Muslim's/Economy/BOS/Other Stuff

As a possible sign of things getting better is increased revenue at the Connecticut gin mills. The reality is this is money going into the coffers of another state rather than this state and programs in that state that will not be eliminated or gutted since they’ll be getting some bucks for the suckers.…I mean THE CUSTOMERS…who take that long lonesome ride.

The lowest number of work place deaths have been reported in almost 20 years. With the high unemployment this is a real shocker.

A poll shows that many Americans consider Obama a Muslim. I’ve listen to some of the Imam’s going full bore. Talk about hate speech that is laced with half truths, demagoguery, absurd conclusions and just plain old ranting (sounds like some anti’s) and you know president WOW could never listen to or subscribe to that. What’s that? Reverend Wright? Twenty years of listening to his ravings? OK…forget about the Imam’s.

My son emailed me from Iraq a day after it was announced that our combat troops have pulled out. He spoke of the motor attack, RPG attack and IED’s that hit his convoy. Yep…things are all quiet.

One hundred and four Democrats voted against the war funding bill - primarily for Afghanistan - and a few Republicans tagged along - too few - some Obama got his wish of amping up the fray. I would strongly urge that the administration seriously reconsider our continued involvement. Let them enjoy the attributes of 16th century life and if it becomes a Taliban stronghold - probably already is we know exactly where to find them. This is an endeavor we cannot win nor justify.

The economy continues to be in shambles but some places it is going strong such as in Germany. American companies are showing some reasonable good bottom lines and many are pointing to how foreign income has been responsible for that. So many large corporations are multi-national which usually means jobs overseas and the unemployment line over here. Manufacturing reports so continuous sluggish or non growth. Now reports are from Fidelity that folks are dipping into their 401(k) to stay afloat.

The great grocery give away continues at Hannaford’s Super Market. I wonder if the anti’s participate?

Nice picture of Roger in the paper helping out at the Burt Wood School. I will refrain from the obvious cheap shot opportunities this presents.

Interesting that Allin’s letter regarding Marsha’s my way or the highway approach appears in the paper in conjunction with Mike Maddigan’s piece on the “Gag Rule.”

Wonderland is gone and a tip of the hat to those who voted to eliminate dog racing. Somehow all the hand wringing on doggie abuse really could not be found at the local tracks. When this measure was first proposed my knee jerk reaction was to support it until I actually talked to some of the folks who worked at the Raynham track. One of the trails I occasional run goes behind the track and that gave me the opportunity to take a gander at the housing quarters for the pooches. Not bad. Wandered over for a peek. A little investigation on my part convinced me this was animal activists gone loony. Now Wonderland has fallen victim to the fact our government could not compromise on a gaming issue. Next will be Raynham.

The Republicans offer little in the way of an alternative to the failed president and the absolute totally failed Democrats. They just have to sit back and say no, watch voter anger increase, look at the idiocy of Pelosi et al, watch the jobs reports continue to flounder, the body counts from Afghanistan escalate and wait for November. I didn’t think they’d have a snowballs chance of gaining control of Congress but that has gone from a long shot to even money - that is betting talk for you anti’s. Then when things screw up they can blame Obama. When election time nears why does the song “Send In The Clowns” stick in my h

It looks like the starting pitchers have hit the wall as the season winds down. The latest rumor on WEEI has Manny being released by the Dodgers on Wednesday and then he will be dealt to Tampa Bay after he clears waivers. My favorite pitcher of all time (R.C.) is looking pretty foolish these days and may have an ankle bracelet shortly.

Roger left here with baggage and plenty of fat to head north and shows up the next year as a new Adonis. The miracles of modern pharmaceuticals. IMO he had 191 career wins and that was it.

Great site for trade rumors, Wally, is MLB Rumorsthat covers a world of stuff. Check out their right hand side bar.

Sox are dead. I have packed it in when Youk went down. Cursed by a spat of injuries that collectively were far too great to overcome. TB and NY can fight over bragging rights to the division.

Bogo has tossed in the towel and is also a high end supporter of Ellsbury. Me? This team is a real long shot and I'm not packing it in but have to consider the climb is very steep and the possibility of getting into the playoffs extremely slim. Fay lady is not singing but is certainly warming up. NY wins again.

WTC ever happened to the casino regional task force? Did they just vanish when it appeared the best chance of a casino was father from their backyard? Then again the whole grouped suffered from a case entropy all along.

I think they moved to Fall River, Suo.

Wonder what happened to CFO? Probably celebrating with a beer bash.

Red Sox are just languishing about. Too many injuries just killed the season. So bad that I left the game on TV to read this blog.

Hey, Suo, have you saved all those ones for bail money?

Marsha should be on the DL (Disabled List).

Marsha Brunelle,Queen of the gavel by Divine Right? Tomorrow night may even best AB's dramatic exit. Love a good melodrama.

Muslim's in the title and Marsha on the sidebar. Two reactionaries.

Who was it that called her "The Gavel Queen?" Gladys?

I think one thing all anti's, pro's, who cares and third rate dips**ts can agree on is Marsha has to do a song and dance that she may have to learn at Burt Wood's to tap dance her way out of this mess that is self created.

To quote Dr. Dealgood.

I know you won't break the rules: there aren't any.

It's a long hard fall from that high horse Marsha has climbed up on. What was she thinking? Only two choices: dig her heels in and stand her ground with virtually no one in her corner or eat crow.

The ultimate bone head maneuver by Marsha. What was she thinking? She has been around town long enough to understand what the reaction would and will be. Is this some type of BoS flagellation on her part? Didn't she comprehend the end results of the "cheap seats" comment?

Some advice from someone from the "cheap seats." Go in and simply say "I Clarked up!" That will and should put an end to Steve M. making a motion.

I linked to The Enterprise story on your sidebar and found the following posting quite appropriate. It speaks for me and I am sure it speaks for many of you.

Representative Government - A form of government in which power is held by the voters, who in turn elect individuals to represent their interests at the local, state and Federal levels. Ultimately, the hope is to create a government that safeguards the common interest of the citizens and acts in response to their will.

Our local town Government is the epitome of this system and is the longest standing form of this type of Government in our Country.

To act counter to this principle, by design and/or by setting in place restrictions that limit dissent is diametrically opposite to the principles of our system of Government and your position of elected leadership. Our Town Leadership must always be willing to listen, seek out and accept input from those who are represented. The British failed to do so and that ignited the ' Shot Heard Round the World' in Concord, which brought the United States to life.

Your distain for commentary from the very citizens you were elected to represent is a symptom of a larger disease. That disease is a cancer that effects our local Government, that of those inside Town Government believing they know better than those they represent. For too long, the Town has not been responsive to the will of the people.

You have failed as a Leader and have outlived your ability to lead effectively. Your lack of ethical behavior and arrogance has been an ongoing issue and shows a clear lack of understanding for what is required of a Selectman.

I call upon you to do what is both right and resign your position forthwith. The people of Middleboro deserve better and you have failed in all respects of handling the office to which you were elected..

Do what is right and step aside to allow Middleboro to move forward. We need better leadership at this time and for the challenges presented by our future. To stay in place as if all of this was somehow acceptable would be an affront to all who value our representative form of Government and the very principles this country was founded on.

The written policy gives Brunelle the authority “to take whatever action necessary to achieve and maintain order, including removal of the offending person(s).”

Maybe she'll hire some Pinkerton's?

Marsha did her best to back track as expected. But she could not defend herself against her own words and actions. Kudos to Lincoln Andrews, Allin Frawley, Adam Bond, Rich Young and others who held her to what she actually said rather than her reinterpretation of what she claims ahe meant to convey. Also, salutations to Steve McKinnon for making the motion to remove Marsha as Chair, and Spataro for seconding it......that came as a surprise. The vote apparently will come when the full board is present. Too bad that Marsha does not have the grace to step down voluntarily rather than face the humiliation of being voted out.

Tonight I am very proud to be a resident of a town where people stand up to defend their rights.

bogofree said...

Well said Drive-By.

I attended the meeting and spoke to the person next to me when Lincoln was cross-examining...I mean questioning Marsha on her own words and letter. I said this reminds me of the scene from Caine Mutiny when Captain Queeg is on the witness stand and as the heat goes up he moves these ball bearings faster and faster in his hand as he stutters and gets more confused.

Tonight should mark the end of the pro and anti casino foolishness. No Anti person should should try to paint Allin Frawley as one dimensional.

Tonight Allin proved himself as person committed to all aspects of the town.

People may be unaware that Allin attends many committee and extra curricular meetings. He has put himself on a course to learn as much about the true inner workings of the beyond one or two issues.

I (and other members) of the Charter Committee were very impressed with his deliberate thoughtful nature to learn and constructively participate in the lengthy process. He was an asset

bogofree said...

Some are capable of being more than a one trick pony and some are not. Allin obviously can.

Seems like some of the ire of the soon to be disposed (hopefully) Chair is directed at his actually questioning the wisdom of The Board - for which she is the point person. Others on The Board do not seem as sensitive - just my take. Maybe it has something to do with the IT issue?

I especially enjoyed the look on Marsha's face as the lineup at the podium started to take place. She also appeared in full weasel mode attempting to defend her actions on which both Allin Frawley and Lincoln Andrews had the "evidence" in her own words. Judy Costa made a nice presentation and spoke for many of us but I wonder just how much of it actually sunk in? Steve M. made a bit of a grandstand play with his fist pounding and that just was too pat for me but his motion? Loved it.
