OPEN POSTS WEEK THREE

A very exciting week as Hal managed to get into a skirmish or two...or three with a few others. I hope Hal continues to post on politics but I know he will on other matters. Hal. My two political favorites are HST and Winston Churchill and we all know what HST said about kitchens. Consider this site a kitchen as it appears all of the posters are to the right of your views. Me? I'm all over the political map but have a strong distaste for any orthodoxy from the right or left. So a view of CHB is guaranteed to get those hackles up. So, Hal, loosen up your keyboard and try to gather in some recruits for Moonbat Nation. I will sit back and enjoy while taking cheap shots at all. Just keep it within bounds, folks, or else. Hal has managed to maintain his composure and so have the others.

The economy continues to fail...and fail and the proposal from the Obama camp is an infusion of public works dollars. Can't hurt but IMO seems more of a union payoff than anything else. Trickle down economics in action. Worked more for Ike in the 50s than FDR in the 30s but go for it. Obama was also in agreement on the bailout so that is an issue he can't run and hide from as Nancy Pelosi attempted to do on a news show this morning. Looks like excessive Botox treatments do kill the brain cells specific to memory. For Obama even failure will be a success based on what has happened the last few years of Bush and counting the days. Bush can try and go one on one with Warren G, Harding for worse Prez in the last 100 or so years. Even the apparent victory in Iraq is quite hallow when no one is working. Hopefully, Obama will rethink his Afghan policy. Think Russia on that one.

In Massachusetts we have managed to accomplish zero population growth a task that has been accomplished by the fact that those who can escape do so. Governor Patrick has shown that his administration is classic do nothing and in reality the Legislature has called the shots. The good thing for Deval is a good portion of those Legislators will not be a problem unless they can cast their votes from Cedar Junction. Ah...the bliss of one party rule.

Locally it has been over a week since the latest foot-in-mouth pronouncements from a CFO aligned blogger so keep trolling, as I do, their site's for the latest faux pas. A sure bet if history holds any sway.

Post away.

I'll carry this over to week #3 and it is a partial comment on Hal. I'm an anti on the casino and I see constant "hits" being take by "1623" as being an elitist and self absorbed snob. Well, Dear Bogo, that is exactly what Hal is! Read his condescending comments to the other posters that he frames in language he calls "manners." Sorry, Hal, it's still calling someone who disagrees with you a dip s**t.

Now, Bogo, you flip flop more than Kerry ever did and fence sitting seems to be your specialty but you did sign off on a letter Hal wrote several months ago. The reaction was not what you expected and you also explained yourself and your motives on nemasket.net but do you now think it was the right thing to do? Take a look at CHB and Hal in particular with his racist hiding behind every bush - and probably BUSH to him. To use race as an argument is totally fraudulent on his part. Hal also does a full fledged Jessie by quoting an anonymous 85 year old lady. Just like Jessie and her friend Clark, ESL teachers and suicides. A birds of a feather would be an appropriate comparison. And he chides us for going “anonymous.”

bogofree said...

Let me see if I can weasel my way out of this one. Several different issues are present and I will deal with the comparison one.

I can see a similarity in what you are stating between how “1623” and Hal are perceived as some what patrician in nature. But they diverge quickly in their responses as Hal will take the genteel post method that is, IMO, very passive and CP will be more aggressive and straight forward. CP would be very comfortable in this environment and he is a cultural and political conservative so a “war” with Hal would be enviable. In approaches I certainly subscribe to the CP approach as it is far more entertaining and actually more informative. I suspect Hal enjoys tea and crumpets while he posts. His style and it appeals to many but not necessarily to the scurrilous crowd I deal with.

MR, Hal, and MR would be fellow travelers without the casino in the forefront. Since, IMO, all are certifiable moonbats and view politics from a common ground. However, somehow I suspect Hal would quickly correct any mis-information that would be brought to his attention and not become so entrenched when confronted with errors. From my own experience with JP, somehow I cannot see opinions changing that significantly when facts change and that leads me into, or as a more sophisticated writer would put it - segway, into the next topic and that is my fence sitting and flip flop.

I do flip-flop depending on how circumstances and facts change. I also do not subscribe to a “party line” which is why I am capable of irritating both pro and anti. That same applies to how I view wing nuts and moonbats - no party line. I can see moonbats defending every innocuous statement and just plain dumb move Obama makes with the same passion wing nuts have defended Bush. Facts change and opinion can change and that is very consistent in my posting history. Fence sitting is a valid interpretation in some instances and a recent example was the issue of CFO tax status. In the past I have acted with haste and then have to clean up a mess. If that is considered fence sitting I agree.

I have no regrets on that letter. I felt that race was an underlying issue with Glenn “The Raven” Marshall bringing it up and code words and topics such as hot bunking and ESL teachers being in the fore ground. Hal also made some significant changes to the mutual letter before I signed it. With his articles on CHB regarding race I simply do not agree.

Hal, this site is for big boys and girls and if this is how you handle a situation with posters you do not agree with then the loss is yours and not ours. Hal, if Bogo posted on your site he would be cut since on several issues he would hold court with a different point of view and with his tactics? Give it up.

I went into your blog Bogo to try and understand the entire case history and it is a gem. Do they think you owe then some level of allegiance and compliance since you agree with them on a few issues? Hint. Bogo is an independent. You actually think he will back down on an issue when someone just posts garbage that they cannot and will not verify? Whoever ran that site needs his head examined for the choices he made.

I know Bogo well from the Comcast boards and on the political forums he was a real prize. No one could get me to see spots in front of my eyes like he could I would get so pissed and then the next day start giving high fives over a post. He had no discernable agenda that I could flesh out. Each issue was treated independently, so when a moonbat or wing nut would go after him it was a losing cause since he was not aligned with any political philosophy so he didn’t have to attempt to defend something he had no belief or faith in. I know he voted for Bush but would just hammer away at Bush and then turn around and support him on an issue. Is that flip flop or fence sitting? To those with pressed in stone beliefs it is.

I am defending Bogo. Changing one's mind is a sign of intelligence. Something the Moonbats and others just have not seen fit to grasp.

I commend him on being truthful when he talks about his position. I find it distasteful when people attack him for his honesty and the attackes are because they disagree with a position and not the facts.

Oh well. Old folks stick together. Where's my part D statement.

Kudos to bogo and anyone with the intellectual flexibility and freedom to be open to new ideas and possibilities. I don't find it wishy washy at all to continually challenge oneself and the status quo. So, bogo, keep on calling things as you see them. I've always been partial to renegades.

Hal, no offense, but perhaps you need to consider some anger management. I was sorry to see you storm off in a bit of a hissy fit. You just can't take stuff written on the net so personally.

bogofree said...

Oh, well, so much for Hal...we hardly knew ye...or maybe some did?

This is an open site and at this point I have had to do a minimum of supervision - especially for myself. That speaks volumes for the posters on this site.

I am always open to a critique and have had some in the past with Rigger (another site) and today from Anon. Feed back of any sort is appreciated and anon was excellent in his. Kudos’ to you. His post is the kind I like since it is a bit edgy but far from over the top and Hal seems to feel uncomfortable with that and I can understand his position. I encourage all to occasionally check on his site - casino-friend.com as I would with all of you checking the various blogs on the casino issue.

My wife was in good spirits today since the Patriots won. As some may know I am a NY Giants fan and that certainly made for an enjoyable SB 42. I have hammered away at the Pats all last season for a variety of reasons but have praised them considerably this season . In fact, I have been more supportive of the Pats than some of their own fans. The defense will eventually take a toll on this team but young Mr. Cassel continues to impress. Next week will be a monster game for him as the Steelers - Pats is a Blood Feud right from Hatfield-McCoy type. Steel boys have an excellent defense and that will give quite a test to the revived Pats offense.

I am in a terrific mood after spending the entire weekend buying out every Christmas light and decoration from Taunton to Plymouth. The old homestead is beginning to look like the Griswald's on "Christams Vacation". Wish I could see the alarmed expressions on the G&E faces as they watch the kilowatts cycle at warp speed.

Surprisingly, the stores were jammed packed. All those forecasts about this being a bad retail season were not evident today. Women trucking around two carriages loaded with Xmas gifts. I think people sometimes do more impulse buying when they're depressed by an impending Depression. Also, the discounts were great.

Rocky said...

The parking lots were packed and this is the week before Thanksgiving.

People must be thinking that they will not have a job next week so better spend it this week.

Bogofree you said:
"Fence sitting is a valid interpretation in some instances and a recent example was the issue of CFO tax status. In the past I have acted with haste and then have to clean up a mess."

But CFO was incorporated on 8/08/2008
http://corp.sec.state.ma.us/corp/corpsearch/C...

The original date of the question was 8/16/08. So not much an apology is needed. Plus they did a quick amendment. They did all this through legal zoom. It took a little while for it to make it onto the mass website too.

bogofree said...

I have a blog on the site called Is CFO A Blog? Here it is. So Anon has a point and in this instance a better term would be caution. Strange how it took them so long to get the job done and to get motivated to do it? They must have been working on it the same time everyone was posting on it at Toxic. At least that is my assumption. Coincidence, I guess.

"I have been following this issue on Toxic and have posted some of the posts, a sample, from that creative and wonderful site (insert sarcasm). I have no idea if it is or is not a PAC? Much of this is in reference to their proposed yard sale. Here are a few of the posts from someone, certainly not me, who appears in the know on this issue. I don't know what their status is. Maybe someone else does?"

Remember prior to the election BB said to vote all Democratic? How has that worked out, MB? Deval has done s**t about his "promises." Wilkerson, Mazilli and now Tuner are all lined up for the perp walk with DiMasi practicing.

As for Hal, of course his antics of deserting this board are typical moonbat mindset. Think they want to hear a dissenting word? LMAO! That's why Pelosi wants to resurface the Fairness Doctrine as an attempt to mute dissent. Hal will return to his safe and protective womb at CHB. Read his posts fellow bloggers and see that “manners” is a one way street. Defend him if you want, Bogo, the man is a race baiting azz.

A closing shot is now Obama stating he will probably delay tax cuts. Hey, moonbats, Obama and you have something in common - lies and BS. LMAO!

drive-by said...

First, to be clear, I'm not defending CFO. OK?

Just not sure why anyone but the IRS, MA Revenue, or anyone who had made what they thought was a tax deductable contribution would care if CFO was a registered PAC---other than if they're not it's just another example of poor organization.

I went to a couple of meetings early on--when I was trying to figure out which side of the issue I stood on--and these guys totally did not have their act together. A lot of attention to minutiae and no strong stragegy planning on how to proceed with the "cause". No real agenda for the meeting. Just a boring, uneventful two hours, more painful than sitting through a church service. So, it doesn't surprise me in the least that things didn't get done when they should have---like having an official PAC legally drawn up on time. CFO didn't look to me like they had their act together.

Never joined. Never forked over a check. Started reading the blogs, mostly MT, and got disgusted pretty darned quick.

Still not for the casino. But my loyalty could have been bought for a $20M agreement.

Real therapy:

(from an email from a friend this morning -- names and addresses fictitious)

When you occasionally have a really bad day,
and you just need to take it out on someone,
don't take it out on someone you know,
take it out on someone you don't know,
but you know deserves it.

I was sitting at my desk when I remembered
a phone call I'd forgotten to make.

I found the number and dialed it.

A man answered, saying
'Hello.'

I politely said,
'This is Chris.
Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?'

Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear
'Get the right f***ing number!'
and the phone was slammed down on me.

I couldn't believe that anyone could be so rude.

When I tracked down Robyn 's correct number to call her,
I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits.

After hanging up with her,
I decided to call the 'wrong' number again.

When the s ame guy answered the phone, I yelled
'You're an a$$hole!'
and hung up.

I wrote his number down with the word 'a$$hole' next to it,
and put it in my desk drawer.

Every couple of weeks,
when I was paying bills or had a really bad day,
I'd call him up and yell,
'You're an a$$hole!'

It always cheered me up.

When Caller ID was introduced,
I thought my theraputic 'a$$hole'
calling would have to stop.

So, I called his number and said,
'Hi, this is John Smith from the telephone company.
I'm calling to see if you're familiar with our Caller ID Program?'

He yelled
'NO!'
and slammed down the phone.

I quickly called him back and said,
'That's because you're an a$$hole!'
and hung up.

One day I was at the store,
getting ready to pull into a parking Spot.

Some guy in a black BMW
cut me off and pulled into the spot I had patiently waited for.

I hit the horn and yelled that I' d been waiting for that spot,
but the idiot ignored me.

I noticed a 'For Sale ' sign in his back window,
so I wrote down his number.

A couple of days later,
right after calling the first a$$hole
(I had his number on speed dial,)
I thought that I'd better call the BMW a$$hole, too.

I said,
'Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?'

He said,
'Yes, it is.'

I then asked,
'Can you tell me where I can see it?'

He said,
'Yes, I live at 34 Oaktree Blvd , in Fairfax ..
It's a yellow ranch style house and the car's parked right out in front.'

I asked,
'What's your name?'

He said,
'My name is Don Hansen,'

I asked,
'When's a good time to catch you, Don?'

He said,
'I'm home every evening after five.'

I said,
'Listen, Don, can I tell you something?'

He said,
'Yes?'

I said,
'Don, you're an a$$hole!'

Then I hung up,
and added his number to my speed dial, too.

Now, when I had a problem,
I had two a$$holes to call.

Then I came up with an idea...

I called a$$hole #1.

He said,
'Hello.'

I said,
'You're an a$$hole!'
(But I didn't hang up.)

He asked,
'Are you still there?'

I said,
'Yeah!'

He screamed,
'Stop calling me,'

I said,
'Make me,'

He asked,
'Who are you?'

I said,
'My name is Don Hansen.'

He said,
'Yeah? Where do you live?'

I said,
'A$$hole, I live at 34 Oaktree Blvd , in Fairfax ,
a yellow ranch style home and
I have a black Beamer parked in front.'

He said,
'I'm coming over right now, Don.
And you had better start saying your prayers.'

I said,
'Yeah, like I'm really scared, a$$hole,'
and hung up.

Then I called A$$hole #2.

He said,
'Hello?'

I said,
'Hello, a$$hole,'

He yelled,
'If I ever find out w ho you are...'

I said,
'You'll what?'

He exclaimed,
'I'll kick your a$$,'

I answered,
'Well, a$$hole, here's your chance.
I'm coming over right now.'

Then I hung up and immediately called the police,
saying that I lived at 34 Oaktree Blvd , in Fairfax ,
and that I was on my way over there to kill my gay lover.

Then I called Channel 7 News
about the gang war going down in Oaktree Blvd in Fairfax ..

I quickly got into my car and headed over to Fairfax ..

I got there just in time to watch two a$$holes
beating the crap out of each other
in front of six cop cars, an overhead news helicopter
and surrounded by a news crew.

NOW I feel much better.

Anger management really does work.

A Thanksgiving Rant

Cook for days.
Wait on everyone.
All my efforts are devoured in 15 minutes.
Big mess.
All the men retire to family room to snooze, then watch football into the evening.
Hours of clean up, putting leftovers in frezer bags, and washing dishes.

Happy Friggin' Thanksgiving!!!

bogofree said...

My Thanksgiving grip is Black Friday. Stores that offer super specials for a limited time and with a limited number to entice shoppers to make fools of themselves. Some of these stores I now refuse to even shop at anymore such as Best Buy and Tweeter. Tweeter is gone. I have written to the "marketing Department" regarding this with no reply. Personally, I find this type of business practice insulting to long time customers.

I attended a few meeting and have blogged on why I did not attend more. I provided tacit and some fiscal support for CFO but the schism was over their collective mind set for supporting and defending the indefensible. The PAC issue was small, IMO, and was representative of an organization flying by the seat of their pants.

Whoa! Talk about sanitized history. Take a gander at MT's new entry "The Welcome Wagon".

She writes, "The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe did not 'meet' the Pilgrims so much as they tried to kill them.

It happened here, as you can see on this map, at 'First Encounter Beach' in the area of present day Eastham where a group of the Pilgrims searching for food had made camp for the evening."

Uhm, MT, ever read some of Gov. Bradford's extensive accounts journaling the early days of the Plymouth Colony from day 1? Probably the most readable form of his and 3 other primary sources can be found in the book "Mayflower". Well, the FACTS contradict everything written in your current blog. The Indians were the aggressors? I don't think so. Truth is they were forced to defend themselves from barbaric European methods of encroachment. Who taught them to scalp? Who raped captured women? Who sat down to a dinner only to slaughter their Indian hosts? Who hung rotting skulls on their fortress posts as trophies? Sorry, dear, you've bought into a fantasy and seem to be totally oblivious to the actual historical data provided by those who were there.

MT, I'm not sure whether you are lying to advance your cause or simply deluded. But, you haven't done your homework, lady. Sorry, there's no literary license when citing historical references.

This latest blog is the worst example of CasinoFiction.org I've read so far. Total BS!

bogofree said...

The truth is Europeans were an issue BEFORE the Pilgrims arrived. The sudden appearance of a White Man locally was not a startling revelation to the locals as a similar appearance had been to the Aztec and Inca tribes. Fishing boats had been trolling the waters for years as had adventurers and news does travels fast from both the North and the South were encounters had happened. This, however was something entirely new - settlers that were welcomed as both friend and enemy depending upon how a tribe viewed them. Settler is the key and that eventually means conflict. From my history I do not recall an RSVP being sent by any tribe but I assume those with such a parochial and jaundiced view of history are privy to such information and will gladly post it.

Didn't take much to connect the dots regarding the connection between the Europeans and sudden epidemics. Some tribes were openly hostile and aggressive and others were passive and cooperative. The White's took full advantage of tribal divisions which they encouraged with alliances and access to technology. Why do the killing directly when a surrogate can be found? In addition, the Indians view of legal possession of land differed considerably from that of the natives and that was taken advantage of. There is nothing to sanitize about the history between the White and Indian as it is a story that has been repeated since the dawn of man. When you have superior technology and a desire for something you simply take it by subterfuge or conquest or, as the locals did in this area, a combination of the two. Friends…the land you rest on or brag about or default your mortgage on was, to be blunt, stolen.

The main thrust of a good portion of the anti's has been an attempt to debase the legitimacy of the tribe. Easy enough to do when your history has been virtually obliterated over a 350 year span. In this instance I could care less about the Wamps "legitimacy" as, IMO, they have a significantly more valid claim to the land than we do. They are now a recognized tribe and that is a fact. The anti's and pro’s should be, as I am, elated that the real issue of their rights is being discussed in our courts and not the World Court. If that happened it would be a slam duck and you and I and MT could kiss the homestead goodbye.

Glenn “The Raven” Marshall can attempt to bang out the teary eyed version of history as he sees it. Then again, he sees a lot of things that are not there such as a war and criminal record. His blathering is what it is - a PR ploy to help soften opposition where ever it may be. IMO the tribe has managed to put someone in power that certainly has done his constituents a huge disservice. Of course when you look at the recent headlines - Mazilli, Wilkerson, Turner and DiMasi I see little difference in the Indian or White ability to run a sound ship.

anonymous said...

I really don't want a casino in Middleboro. Nor do I care to align with an organization that is sorely lacking on any moral compass. Strange when I read what MT had said and that seems to be an approach that the cfo bloggers are taking more into account and that is if the Tribe is a legitimate Tribe? Their Tribal history and if they were as active an involved in this region as they are said to have been. The sources that MT chooses to use? Questionable since it is the view through blue eyes only. Like Bogo I look further than that approach since my own history is a convoluted mess. Why? Three generations ago the Pogroms destroyed much of my family. Three generations ago. Maybe more since it does date back to the 1880s. No real history except a few oral excerpts from survivors and no written history since none could write. Now put that in context of 350-400 years. What is left? The destruction of a people and that leaves little of THEIR OWN evidence. Do they hate the idea that much that they would go to such extremes? I can see why racism becomes a topic. I think that a bog like that just smacks of desperation.

bogofree said...

The very first meeting I attended for CFO at the Mboro Library they were adamant to insure that no one would interpret their organization as anti Indian. Stressed that. Maybe this is a change in policy since I believe Kim also blogged on this issue? Desperation? You may be right, Anon.

I scanned MT's latest and I will say that this represents a new direction for the cfo groupies. Now the pattern is quite clear and that is to seriously question the authenticity of the Tribe. What is funny is their their pal DiMasi is doing. None of them seem to care about that. This is just another example their take no hostages, the ends justify the means mentality.

It would be nice to see them have the backbone to come out and admit one mistake and cut the link to incendiary blogs. Why RY, who seems to be honorable, goes along with this is a mystery. But actions speak louder words. He just seems to let his women to do the dirty work while he sits back and takes the high road.

drive-by said...

anon 11:41

I have to disagree with you about RY having 'his' wommen do the dirty work for him. I have never met him, but I have heard him speak. He is not the strong, charismatic, motivational type. It's the women of CFO who are the dominating "Don't tell me what I can say or do!" cuckholding force RY can't control, can't effectively stand up to. They, and '1623' are the radical fringe element who brought CFO down to the gutter level. RY's failure as a leader is that he didn't stand up to them and cut them off from the getgo. His peacemaking style doesn't work with obsessed zealots. I believe he was the poster known as "Detente", soft in his "Please behave everyone!" approach. It didn't work. IMO, RY should have stepped down a year ago in favor of an archtype who commanded respect. In fact, rumor has it that there has been dissension among the ranks in CFO, and the more radical elements won out over those who wanted to remain strictly issue oriented.

So, if I fault RY for anything it's for allowing himself and CFO to be manipulated and overtaken by extremist bloggers. He should have held firm and cut ties with these goofballs all together. Now it's too late. But I have no doubt that MT, CC, JP, BB, and CDP are doing a very effective job of doing themselves in.

drive-by said...

Rocky-You made my point much better than I did. Good post.

bogofree said...

RY is simply a nice guy, like me, which brings up the point of maybe being too nice?

I agree about the fringe taking over as IMHO you don't mind slight drifts to the left or right of center but not what appears to be happening. The bloggers have gone a wee bit over the top, again - IMO, and no one has reeled them in. Deliberate? Don't know. But the direction appears to have backfired.

drive-by said...

People are only "too nice" if they fail to speak what's REALLY on their minds because they need people to like them too much. That does not appear to be your problem here, bogo. ROFL

drive-by said...

Could be all wet, but I just can't imagine a friend posting on Topix to take it easy on JP because she's elderly and brain damaged. I think JP is posting that herself in a bid for sympathy.

The poster went on to explain that brain damage can be the result of experiencing some traumatic event. Since when has PTSD become classified as brain damage? Big difference between psychiatric disorders and biochemical dysfunctions and physical or genetic injuries to the brain.

And JP elderly? In her late 50s? Maybe in 1902 that was considered old, but not by today's standards.

Another crock of BS!

MB is like an ostrich with his head buried in the sand. You'll never get a response out of him. Too preoccupied trying to distance himself by writing on other topics. That way none of this is his fault. Guess he hasn't figured out that by linking to the fruitcakes he's guilty by association.

While riding the bike at the "Y" today I came across one of those bon mot's of articles I love so much. In this instance the focus is on Jim Braude who on the moonbat scale is a four star out of five. Jim has a bit of an issue with the State Police but that is only incidental to me. Besides, being anti authoritarian, I will tend to side with Jim. But the incident was traffic involved and had to do with this registered moonbat driving an SUV! S-U-V! Maybe he had a John Edwards or Obama bumper sticker on it? LMAO or as LMAO would say - LMAO!

I just love it when front and center those who tell us how to live our lives are nabbed doing some of the same things the non moonbats do! Oh...the hypocrisy.

I posted somewhere in week two in regards to the JP Toxic post. JP does have a history of physical ailments and we often discussed our various aches and pains at the “Y.” Exchange of information since I was recovering from some major surgery. I also took to task a poster on either LL’s site or Nemasket’s site in regards to her leaving the candidate’s night repeatedly at the last town election. I believe at that time she was recovering from the flu and needed a frequent break - much like some BOS members need to grab a smoke. In this instance I have no idea who or why they are posting what is significant personal information. Maybe even what I mentioned is personal? Don't know?

Thinking on Thanksgiving
American from the Wampanoag Indian Tribe came forward and taught the settlers fishing, planting and hunting. By the fall of 1621, there was enough food to survive the upcoming winter. As a celebration for a successful harvest, the settlers and the Wampanoag Indians sat together and had a huge feast.

Their rants over the last half a year indicate that new play book is smearing indians. It started with MT's "People of the first light" "Cry me a river" then to CDP and now -- unfortunately, to KS.

MB talks about anonymous cowards on Toxic. He chooses to remain anonynous on why he links to all this BS. He acts like the three monkeys Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. Well if he does not see the evil in what his blogging buddies are doing and continues to link to it then the previous poster is correct. He is guilty by association.

Sing the them the Cocacola song from the 70's MB at your next CFO love in. I bet it would be Gerry Garcia approved.

From Toxic on "brain damage."

"brain damage was meant as a metaphor to her past moronic postings.

JP does not have brain damage.(Bad use of words) She is not bothering anyone.

I'm Sorry. "

bogofree said...

Thank you for the posts, Family Guy, and that is somewhat of an explanation. No brain damage but an analogy. Bizarre postings by whoever started it.

With the CFO links issue it is clear that by continuing to link they give tacit support to more and more outrageous statements. I can see a new and alarming trend in the attempts to debunk the legitimacy of the tribe so all that will do is provide credence to charges of racism. Family Guy, who seems to spend his life monitoring Toxic, posted a previous piece by CC that had a different approach. Circumstances seemed to have caused CFO to amp up the attacks on the tribe. Too bad.

From Toxic. Didn't take long.

"CFO will prove themselves......We have the support from other tribes (Naraganset, Massachuset, Pokanoket etc.)"

http://www.topix.com/forum/city/middleboro-ma... Post #42

PROVE YOUR STATEMENT. SHOW IT IN WRITING. According to your words there should be AT LEAST 4 or 5 TRIBES that have made this pledge of support to CFO.

These are your words. Back them up. You said TRIBES, not an invididual turncoat or Benedict Arnold.(there is one every froup of people)

This is total bunk. More of Chickenfeathers.org playing fast and loose with facts. You are continuing the sorry saga of the white man pitting tribe against tribe.

Prive this is not another Clark CT, Mass Mailing, trespassing. or revisionist history episode by CFO.

bogofree said...

I have no illusions about the tribe or their leadership. IMO the developers went reservation shopping and found the right "mark" to do business with. The process of Federal recognition was long and costly (15Mil by developers?). The tribe also has questionable authenticity but I have already posted my position on that issue and no convoluted interpretation of history as seen through blue eyes will change it. The tribe saw an opportunity and grabbed it and if the gin mill is ever built they will be a lot better off financially then ever before.

I just love it as we have another bonehead post by an anti. Bad enough MT can't get history 101 correct but now you have dunderhead statements like that. Naturally, they have one of their very own attempting a deflection on Topix. Can't answer the question! I just love it!

Guess they didn't call today Black Friday for nothing. One man trampled to death by shoppers storming WalMart in Stream Valley, NY this am. And two employees shot to death at a store in Palm Desert, CA. People have just gone bezerk!

Spent my Black Friday in bed watching holiday specials and recovering from Tryptophan (Turkey enzyme that makes you sleepy) OD. Great day with all the relatives. Just totally pigged out and am soooo tired.

Hope everyone here had a great 'anonymous' holiday. LOL

Who really runs the show there? Why does CFO continue on such a misguided path? Is it calculated?

I cannot figure it out. Probably because I am one of the ignorant masses that can't make head or tails out of the blogs. They seem determined to throw more and more shite against the fan.

They claim to have support of other indian tribes? Why say such a thing? If it were true it would be reasonable to assume that it would be posted on their "press releases"

I dunno. Quite crew.

CannibalizedFacts.org would be a better name

About a year ago MB did print a copy of an email he received from the chief of the Pokanoket tribe in Bristol, RI seeking CFO's support in their claim to Middleboro as their ancestral home. They have RI state recognition and are still in the process of seeking federal. Bristol, RI was the chief encampment of Massasoit (he also had 2 seasonal encampments in this are). Of course, CFO is particularly partial to the Pokanokets because they oppose the building of casinos on Indian reservation land.

There are also other tribes making the same claim. Something the DOI and BIA have to sort out. But to date the Wampanoags are the only tribe to achieve federal recognition. I do know that after King Philip's War many Indians indigenous to the Middleboro area did make Mashpee their home and DO appear to have a direct historical link to the land here. I very much doubt that the federal agencies will find in favor of the other tribes trying to compete with the Mashpee Wampanoags.

Bottom line, Gaming is the only official avenue by law that the federal government has given the Indians to financially make a better life for themselves. Now whether or not that right materializes in this economy seems questionable, at least in the near future.

In 1616, John Smith erroneously referred to the

** "entire Wampanoag confederacy" as the Pakanoket.**

Pakanoket continued to be used in the earliest colonial records and reports. The Pakanoket tribal seat was located near present-day Bristol, Rhode Island. Wampanoag means ‘’People of the First Light.’’ The word Wapanoos was first seen on Adriaen Block's 1614 map and was the earliest European representation of Wampanoag territory. Other synonyms include ‘’Wapenock, Massasoit’’ and ‘’Philip's Indians’’.

Truth Be Told-

My post was only to explain that the tribes CFO says are backing them have something to gain in their affiliation with them.

IMO opinion, it's an issue to be resolved between the tribes without CFO's interference.

bogofree said...

IMO this is just another example of what was done 400 years ago and that is take advantage of historical animosities. I was watching Brave Heart again and it reminded me of the Brits dividing the Scots. Let them solve their traditional issues with one another without it resembling down town Baghdad. IMO each tribe should have Federal recognition and the right to take advantage of any laws encouraging gaming if they choose to do so.

Looks like JP is warming up for the election. That's just the beginning and the rest is the same old rehash on what is wrong with the BOS. Old news from MR. The bad news is Steve McKinnon will end up suffering since he'll be associated with MR.

"Spataro: One Trick Pony

Voters can always tell when Steven Spataro runs for re-election. Devoid of any ideas, he drags out the old Compression Solution, the tired old horse. Didn't his previous Compression Solution include combining the positions of COA Director with the Park Department and the Library? Didn't he want the Town Planner to act as Conservation Agent as well?"

Family Guy said...

It didn't take long as old habits die hard. Took a look and you are correct, anon, as it is more of the same old. Nothing like living in the past. I suspect as long as Steve McKinnon is tied to the anti movement, no matter how indirectly, it will provide more of a drag than a boost to his efforts despite his attempts to distance himself. He'll still have to content with that Jessie influence and that can't help.

drive-by said...

Please explain to me how Steve McKinnon could be perceived as being associated with JP? Because he still occassionally posts on nemasket.com? Has it slipped people's attention that he disagrees with everything she posts in the strongest possible terms?

Steve's views on the casino are akin to bogo's. And he is not a member of CFO. Sorry, I see absolutely no common ground between Steve and JP.

If people don't vote for him JUST because he is anti casino, then they will lose a competent, hardworking, reasonable candidate for all the wrong reasons.

CFO posters on topix are getting very frustrated. They cannot control their own fingers when writing blogs and get furious that they cannot control responses to their blogs. It is like "General Hospital" and endless saga that never realy changes.

CFO will make more screw ups.Topix posters will pounce on them. CFO will be frustrated they caannot control the message. CFO will be boxed into a corner on Topix. It will get quiet for a few days. Then CFO will blog another screw up.

It is as good as a soap opera.

Family Guy said...

I will clarify my statement. Steve does have a touch of the anti about him simply because of his past involvement. I know he is far different than JP on political issues, in fact, totally different. To some people they will still make the connection between him and JP and that is incorrect. I hope that not many do and I hope he does pick up a reasonable measure of support from the pro side. You also have to consider that a few months ago the cfo's were blogging on the need to have some influenece on the BOS and that may also be an issue for him. Personally, his biggest problem will be that things are going rather well in town. I would also suggest he campaign for himself and not against Steve Spataro.

Topix now has vieled threats of libel and slander being tossed around over posters calling cfo racist. A threat has been made to take legal action for Topix to provide IP addresses and that is wishful thinking. A strong argument could be made that cfo is anti indian based on their blogs.

Mr. Steve McKinnon was an wrong in his editorial. Being on the FinCom for less than a year he thinks he knows everything. When that other know it all asked about the funding for the new chief, Steve M didn't get up but in his editorial he said there was money. Well folks. The Fire departement spent all the chief and deputy chiefs money.

There may be a line item but the money is spent. Maybe Mr. McKinnon should check with the chairman of his committee prior to sending editorials then again, maybe the whole Fin Com doesn't know.

drive-by said...

Haven't read the Gazette in years, so I don't have a clue what Steve's editorial was about. And frankly I don't have the time or inclination to keep up with the nitty gritty of town politics. Can't say that the blogs and forums done much to improve what some may term my inexcusable A-P-A-T-H-Y. If an issue is very important I'll spend enough time to make an informed decision as to how I'll vote. Otherwise, an obsession with the picyune details of local budgets, etc takes up too much time from pursuits that are more meaningful to me. To quote Susan Hayward, "I want to LIVE!!!" Didn't pick the moniker Drive By Moron for nothing.

bogofree said...

I have, like Drive-By, a cursory view of town politics and I like it that way. I have many times explained my indifference and will live with it. There is a small junta of locals that live and breath the various trials and tribulations of everything that is Middleboro and they are certainly welcome to that little local nitch. Somehow memorizing Roberts Rules or the Town Charter does not appeal enough to drag me away for some inane TV rerun of a show long departed. Like most, I just sit back and enjoy the relative calm of the latest status quo and will only irrationally over react when something gets my attention.

In that measure I had even forgotten that Steve was on the FC so that just lends a bit more credence to my short little attention span. I can leave what is on a certain line of the DOR Report to others that need some justification for sounding important. When I read about CPA I immediately think of Bentley College rather than something that will cost me. With town government it is like any other business: Why do we need it? How much will it cost? Where is the money coming from?

I hope Steve will take the opportunity to post on this site.

Suo Mynona said...

Bogofree:
You sound like MB and JP drumming up nemasket posters when you say:
"I hope Steve will take the opportunity to post on this site."

Everyone had enough of that failed experiment on websites. I don't think you will again see a legitamate candidate for selectman posting his/her platform on an open blog or message board for a long time. I also don't think you see a selectman or other elected official debating an issue or defending their stance on message boards. AB gave that up a long time ago. It is a no win situation.

He is safe at nemasket. It is more a place for him to hang out and have some mindless fun (nothing wrong with that).

I am sure he knows this site exists and has ventured to read (or maybe even post) it a few times.

Suo Mynona said...

If nemasket members started to openly post on your blog the consequences might be substantial.

Rocky said...

Hey Bogo. Nothing like a good M*A*S*H rerun.

But when you are on a small fixed income like myself thinking that the town is going to ask me for more money, that should be there already, from my limited income hurts.

But "War is Suicide" chokes me up.

LMAO said...

Bogo. I hope some of those show up from Nemasket since we have not had a pompous gas bag feast since Hal left. LOL! BB and MR could not survive you on their turf and over here. LOL! JP would be Clarked to death and BB is an endless target.

You have said anyone can post and I suspect that applies to Steve McKinnon or anyone else. I'm sure if they place any of their political postions out there they do so at their own risk. Say, Hal, how did that work for you? Steve seems like a reasonable person who is far to the right of JP so that makes him OK in my book and like you I pay little attention to the ins and outs of town politics.

chica said...

Thank goodness Thankgiving is over with. I really enjoy the family get together but the pressure leading up to it and the preparation for the day itself is all consuming. At least my Xmas shopping is done.

I have gone to Nemasket.net over the months and the site is an excahnge for MB and JP. Do they even realize how far out of the loop they are?

The town politics leave me cold. All I'm cocerned about is how much will it cost?

I have not posted much of late but I try to scan the posts once a day or every other day.

Suo Mynona said...

Chica:
I was thinking the same thing last time I checked out nemasket. JP and MB ought to just send emails to the other.

Suo Mynona said...

As an observer, the CPA will never pass in middleboro.

bogofree said...

I have not been back to Nemasket since I was official excommunicated and shunned and banned and cyber executed. Oh...the pain! Oh...the moral indignation! Oh..the BS I am spewing! The loss is entirely theirs. So I have no idea what is going on in their mutual feel good society but I suspect it is moonbat squared and we saw how well a moonbat can handle the heat based on our own recent experience. Sit never really did amount to anything - with or without the casino issue but it did not have a jovial slant.

The CPA is a wonderful idea when we are flushed with cash but right now we are just getting flushed. Hopefully, the town can maintain tight enough control so we can avoid the annual begging that goes on. No one is telling you not to pay higher taxes. If a taxpayer feels the town needs more I'm not stopping you just as the state allows you to pay at the 5.6% rate rather then the 5.3% rate. In 2007 I believe 739 taxpayers choose the higher rate and I suspect at least half just made a mistake. That shows you the fact that it is rare indeed when a moonbat is willing to back up how they tell us to spend our money.

With Steve he is like anyone else and can post anything he wishes from a “How ‘bout those Sox?” to a campaign statement. Steve has done to me the ultimate sacrifice - akin to falling on a grenade to save your buddies - and that is serving in public office with no compensation other than pissing off every voter at some time or another. Ditto to all that serve as their “time” certainly outpaces anything I contributed in scouts, 4H, sports and so on. To each their own, I guess.. Now I just stand on the sidelines and take cheap shots.

The CPA wont even make it out of the gate. I bet the "I want to spend your free money crowd" has not even collected 200 signatures.

I think JP fell into a trap about the 7 square miles of open space. He did not elaborate too much on the parcels. I bet LA knew that she would take off on a famous rant and up eating crow at the "ESL Diner in downtown Clark". She was too intent on slamming him than to consider he was correct. Why would he have made something up in front of the whole town? Even BB was smart enough not to question the number. BB just made false statements afterwards about other things. But you would have thought that BB and JP would have at least known how much open space the town actually has.
