Wandering Thoughts

Just a few comments to post since I have no real idea for another blog and am not good at cut and paste.

Time to expand off shore drilling. On the Gulf last week and Texans have no problem with it. Go for it.

Time to end foreign aid.

Columbus Day has reached it's shelf life.

Term limits are needed.

John Kerry and Barney Frank are just totally useless.

I have fantasies about Vegas Val.And Sarah Palin, also.

Josh Beckett is a very good pitcher you had one season (2007) that was super.

Bankers will now be in the same category as lawyers and used car salesman.

Model For A New Constitution by Rexford Guy Tugwell is still a great read.

Looks like Giants showed the way for how to beat the Patriots.

No matter how boring this piece is it will never match the bordom level of a BOS meeting.

I could care less about question #2 and #3.

I will vote YES on #1, however.

I have heard no resonable explanation for why we are in Afganistan.

Why did it take Congress two days to figure out rescue is better PR than bailout?

Commercial flying use to be an "experience" and it still is - insert caustic comment.

The Brockton Enterprise is a waste of ink.

What ever happened to small, medium and large?

McCain? Obama? What is the immigration policy for Canada?

I love the idea of school vouchers.

The Big Dig was a massive waste of money. Tips farewell gift to Massachusetts.

About time you put something out. VV fantasies! You are really nuts. She probably wraps herself in barbed wire. Could be worse if you had the JP or MT option.

I keep on switching between McCain and Obama but expect Obama to win.

Bogo. LMAO! Double LMAO! MT has been canned. Looks like her blog and Jessie's are not being linked. LMAO! I checked out her blog and she has a song and dance about it. Dropped from the BOD and now this! Has cfo had a wake up call? LMAO! ROTFLMAO!

LMAO said...

Check out Topix as I have posted and someone has a thread open on it. LMAO!

bogofree said...

Just got back from vacation, LMAO, and when I checked Toxic I saw nothing, so I assume a thread was pulled. I went to the usual suspects and read MT's blog and it looks like she has been hacked from the rolls of CFO bloggers. I saw what was an attempt to put some kind of spin on it and something about a computer program - sure - and I'll respect you in the morning and the checks in the mail.

Not sure what is going on but being one to jump to conclusions I'd say CFO has finally axed some folks - first MR and now MT. Just my take. Rest seems like a feel good PR move.

Suo Mynona said...

No chance CFO is smart enough to dump her. Who would be left to give credibility to the CFO blogfather, JP's and CP's blogs?

CFO is a commune pat on the back society.

anonymous said...

I just think this is a riot as a thread relating to her was removed from Topix. IMO it looks like cfo has dumped her, JP and MT. She was dumped from the Board and now this.

Suo Mynona said...

I have heard a person speak of the reverse Peter Principle. CFO's bloggers are a prime example. Once in motion they will continually sink to their lowest form. It is an endless spiral that cannot stopped; an intellectual form of entropy.

anonymous said...

Looks like they are eating their young! LOL! MR at least can move into something else but Mary? LOL!

LMAO said...

LMAO! That I am over the Mary situation. She has been dumped. Acting like a school girl among her friends trying to put a positive shine on a boyfriend giving her the gate. Pathetic. So I am LMAO!

She was so over the top that even cfo realizes she is like a lead weight on them. In a few weeks all trace of her will be gone. She is isolated and alone.

Enjoyed our weekend away with a nice discount and was surprsied when I saw what is being posted on Gladys Kravitz.

I have posted comments on your blog about her and Jessie Powell in the past and finally someone has done the right thing. I went to her blog and the others to try and get an idea of all this and it looks like she has been simply fired. Will this change your opinion of cfo?

bogofree said...

I think the Mary Tufts situation has been tossed around by you folks fairly well. IMO she differs greatly from JP since JP has a wide range of topics to blog about and is certainly not a one trick pony. I may disagree with many of JP's posts and subsequent comments, but that is the nature of things. Unfortunately she never owned up to her failings. And I wish she had so I could scuttle the title of this blog. JP should and could have been a major player in town government and politics if her abrasiveness had been toned down. Nothing new on that.

Mary has a focus that she freely admits to in being primarily an anti-casino blogger. Occasionally she may dabble into other areas but it is just to dip the toes in. I do believe her perseveration on AB has had considerable negative impact and that she could have used her energy in other areas. I suspect folks have paid less and less attention to her and now consider her just a "fringe" element. Too bad as her cleverness and research should have been more adroitly applied for a more positive long range impact.

As far as CFO I have no idea what has really happened. I have also meandered through the various blogs and comments and attempted to decipher exactly what transpired. IMO it appears to be a purge. Slowly pushing out some as gently as possible if any such thing is really possible. A poster mentioned "being fired" and that is how I tend to view it. IMO it is a positive for CFO as I view it as a legitimate attempt to tone down and disassociate from the more volatile rhetoric. So based on that my respect-O-Meter for CFO bumped up a few notches.

Suo Mynona said...

Too little too late. Besides there is still CP to contend with.

Dreaming of Val? If you think she's a hottie, you need a whole team of shrinks. But then again maybe you know something we don't--like she's really a dead ringer for Anjolina. Never know, but that could forgive her a whole lot of sins.

Hoping the Red Sox lose for the next few years so that I can afford the price of a ticket again. Miss the stale urine aroma of Fenway.

Kind of feeling sorry for MT these days. Looks like she's losing her grip. As for JP, does anyone even read her moonbat mumbo jumbo anymore?

Columbus Day-- LOL-- He wasn't even Italian. Heard he was really Basque.

Sorry to miss the STM tonite. No, actually I'm not. It's always a wasted night of pure torture.

Why vote YES on #1? The state will just find another way to stick it to us?

bogofree said...

Figured I'd have some fun with the Val comment as I've viewed the VV project. At my age you can't be picky and I'll over look the rotting teeth, moles, wrinkles and who knows what else.

Sox tickets are a joke. I can't imagine paying $140 for a Monster Seat as it is just a bleacher seat.

I agree on MT as it is turning into a melt down. And JP? That is even far left for the moonbats.

I agree, Drive By, as I'm running out of steam. I've stayed away from my hot button issue - the bailout bill - since after my emails to Bush, Frank and Pelosi I expect a visit from the FBI - unless they are busy following up on MT's blogs comments on Wayne Perkins and Jack Healey. I start on that you'll be ready with the large net and cut white jacket that buttons in the back.

Bluto....Question #1 is a potential nightmare but they really need a wake up call and a 40+% YES might do it.

The TM? Gave up years ago.

LMAO said...

Bogo. I just got through reading JP's blog and it reads like a moonbat playbook. I'm a moderate in politics but she is so far to the left it is laughable. Does anyone take the ramblings of the extremists on the left and right seriously? I have friends that support both candidates and they laugh this stuff off.

The TM was a failure. Guess the mighty BB could not get enough voters out for it.

LMAO!

bogofree said...

LMAO. I pay little attention to the extreme right or left as they represent the very worse in politics and, IMO, represent a greater threat to liberty, freedom of exprseeion and thought than a dozen Bin Laden's. I just put the mute button on with those folks as does virtually anyone else. Your friends have the right idea - laugh them off.

The TM I missed and will miss the one next week and the week after. I've explained my position on that many times and it looks like I am not alone.

I have no idea if BB was beating the drum on his site for the TM since I am not a member but assume he and a few others have discussed it. Obviously it had little impact.

anonymous said...

"This was a pathetic showing by the 14,000 registered voters in Middleboro highlighting the number one problem in town"

That's from the Bumpkin and I guess you are part of that group, Bogo, as am I and about 13,900 more. Guess I just don't measure up to the high standards of BB and his alter ego, JP.

I know BB is a friend of yours so do you care to comment on this message?

drive-by said...

My oh my! The guilt, the castigation for voter apathy on BB's blog today. LMAO! Gee, when are some people going to 'get it' that not everyone lives and breathes politics 24/7? Some of us actually want to enjoy a real life.
Really funny to watch some get up early and grind out their daily blogs. God forbid they should miss a day and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Dave's Diner. Gotta keep those stats up and keep all those state reps who read their jewels of wisdom informed.

So what happens if TM never gets a quorum? Double LMAO! Next week I'll be right where I was last nite--eating Pringles with french onion dip and drinking coke in front of the boob tube. Not into pain and suffering.

drive-by said...

Anonymous-

Bumpkin doesn't seem like a bad guy. He tries. Not pissy like MT and JP. I think he'd make a great mall Santa.

bogofree said...

Well said, Bluto, as I am Mr. Apathy at the old TM. In fact I am so fed up with all politics that I will NEVER vote for anyone for national office and that could soon include all offices. Afterall, that is a choice, and if I wish to complain without voting or attending TM that is my right.

I was at one time a real political junkie. An activist who worked in many campaigns (both parties) and for GASP (Group Against Smoking Polution) and CLT (Citizens for Limited Taxation). I actually wrote postion papers for Ray Shamie - ask how THAT worked out? But no more. Zip. I'm through. I'd add to what you said, Bluto, but it is perfect.

BB is fairly new to this and has a passion which I appauld him for. Go forward and "make a difference." LOL! Being critical of others free choice is not the answer. JP knows it all and a gander at her blog will have all but the most ardent moonbats running for the vomitorium. Can't admit a mistake - no wonder she ran for office. JP did get a nice voter drive going in which I participated and that was passive in regards to politics - just register. She was torn apart for this and that was dead wrong.

MT is fast becoming a crank with virtually no impact. Trust me....I know cranks...not that I am one. LOL!

So, Anon, I think you have by answer embedded in this comment.

Again, Bluto, nice comment so I might just copy it over, delete yours, and post it as mine. LOL!

drive-by said...

We the good people of Bridgewater are shipping MT back to you guys in Middleboro. Send us a bill for all expenses. It's worth the price to us to be rid of such an embarassment. Oh, don't even think of a prisoner exchange (JP for MT).

bogofree said...

Great...now the EPA will be all over our arse for toxic waste. Maybe she can write a column in the Gazette the weeks BB does not publish?

Now, as far as the bill? Let me see....we are waiting and waiting for 7Mil that may never come. Hmmmm.....I see negotiations! Maybe AB can negotiate? Oops....we'll end up paying you 7MIL. Maybe Jack Healey can step in? Naw....that'll have to be a backdoor behind the scenes operation. Let's review that prisoner exchange.

MT for Glenn "The Raven" Marshall! Hey, you do have all the appropriate facilities to deal with "The Raven."

Anonymous said...

Saying the Bumpkin would make a good mall Santa is a little over the top.

Probably not a good idea after being questioned by the police for being in a girls backyard.

To support this claim, CBS News recently had one of its staff impersonate a convicted felon and child molester. The staff member applied in five Los Angeles malls, under the name of the actual felon. The felon was a man who was registered along with 63,000 sickos on what is commonly known as “Meagan’s List.” He was hardly a well-kept secret. And yet all five shopping malls hired the man to be their Santa Claus. Later, when confronted with the issue, one man claimed to have run a free pre-employment background check that is generally good for nothing. The others mumbled lame excuses that, when translated logically, meant they probably had not run any kind of pre-employment background check.

anonymous said...

If BB was a mall Santa I'd be worried about bike's missing.

anonymous said...

"As for Newmasket.net, good for her and her readership. But there is not one single person who should "corner the market" on thoughtful and provoking, conversation."

WTF is this? Newmasket? This was on MT's comments. I did a search and no such thing. I assume this is Nemasket and "her." Has BB had an operation? Oh, maybe this poster thinks JP runs the site since it appears that way based on how he caved in to her on the Clark issue.

drive-by said...

To 'fyi only'

Saying BB would make a good mall Santa was a sarcastic joke. Geesh, when people lose their sense of humor, things have really gotten under the bottom.

BTW, as regards that turkey feather event, BB shouldn't have been riding in a private posted area and I can understand why the kid got scared and called the police. But BB a child molester? Puhleeze!!!! What's 'over the top' is how far BOTH the pro and anti sides have taken this smear campaign. Over what? A casino? LMAO! Everyone needs to chill. And the Blogfathers need to shut up and get a life.

OMG do I hate politics on every level!

drive-by said...

Re: nemasket.net: BB let his forum become JP's wacko moonbat platform. No chance of it being a 'community' forum. Most of the silent registered readers (like myself)read but don't post because of her. But it's become pretty funny lately watching a few of the old time posters dumping all over and making fun of JP for her left wing slanted links, especially FinCom SM and BolshoiBob. Even funnier to watch how pissed off she's getting. To me, reading nemasket.net is like reading the comic pages. Good for a good chuckle. Even funnier after a couple of brews.

anonymous said...

Just take a look at BB's blog and he is a moonbat himself. I also just cruise the site and it is laughable. Once you peel away the casino alliance and realize the different factions it is quite interesting. JP is far left and for the most part the rest are not and her rants become very predictable. Repeat after me : All Republicans are evil and all Democrats are saints. I remember the link she once had to Mother Jones as a source. What next? The Little Red Book?

Bogo. Have you followed Nemasket since your exit? You and Dal are missed by those of us who realized some can cut through the BS.

bogofree said...

I have no intention of signing on again to nemasket.net since even I have standards. Besides, it is nothing more than a platform for JP and that is the reason it has fizzled. No one wants to listen to the preacher everyday of the week - and a flawed one at that. I compare the site to astrology, which is fun but you don't take it seriously.

The whole BB trespass affair has run its course by this time. Besides, I'll take him out on rides where even he can't get arrested. I can see Mark now yapping at a cop: "Don't you know who I am? I'm a columnist! I'm a blogger pro! I've got a web site! Arrest me!" I'll just accept all the blame and say I'm his guardian trying to work him back into the community.

Anon. You bring up an interesting point in that the anti casino faction is a big tent issue and accepts anyone who is anti casino. What happens is turkey feathers and chicken feathers get ruffled when issues other than The Big C work their way into discussion. That can certainly cause some problems.

LMAO said...

"Will you be there? And bring a neighbor? Or will you make a pathetic excuse and then whine about how town government is run? Your absence is your vote."

This is from the MR blog. Once you sift through all the anti GOP stuff you get to this bullcrap. Hey, MR, how many TM's have been blessed by you? Didn't anyone look that up when she ran? I suspect she was at very, very few and probably ddn't vote that much either.

Hey, JP, how about a little real truth from you such as Clark, CT and ESL teachers? What a piece of work. LMAO!

drive-by said...

My favorite JP blogism:
"That being said, I trust most voters to have the sense to research the issues and the rhetoric and cast informed votes on November 4th."

In other words, if you don't vote her way, you're an ignorant moron. Who in their right mind is going to take the opinions of someone who does flawed reasearch seriously? Who wants to engage in discussion with someone who looks down on anyone who disagrees with her? Sorry JP we're not all genius pundits like you...or you'd like to think you are.

Does anyone really think this arrogant woman will ever admit to being wrong about anything? Don't hold your breath! LOL

I have to laugh at the silence of these two clowns. If Middleboro had 500 people show up for Town meeting they would be yelling and blogging, See people are listening there reading our blogs, You know "Patting each other on the Back type crap" its all because of us there coming out.

Then why Are they not taking credit for destroying the Town? You know its all because of us there not coming out, We have done so much damage to the town there scared of being blogged about,I don't want my picture taken by her? She will post my SS numbers, He will put me in the Gazette, end up in my backyard, That crazy lady from Bridgewater will target me, Smash me with a mallet, That man from Lakeville, Well we won't go there, He's the BlogFather, Who knows what he's capable of!

Please take your due credit Blogfathers.

We all know if the people showed up you sure would be shouting then.

Wait can you hear it....(complete silence) Fact No one hears you,

You are so right "Its So quiet"

They have intimidated people beyond belief, and they are happy with their actions. Belanger calls people on Topix cowards for not using their name. You are right THEY WILL TARGET YOU. Past actions prove this. Belanger and Powell side by side. All that they have done is to make sure no one with any sense would run for selectman.

The town has proved time and again they totally disagree with their petty antics. All of their attempts have FAILED.
Article 2 PASSED.
Recall FAILED JP and GS denied
Regular Election GS Denied JP WIPED OUT.

The Bullying Blogers have done more to destroy this community than a casino ever could/will.

Bogo Basher..now that one is really funny.

Wow! Middleboro has become like one big Insane Asylum. There are those wh've gone nuts, and the rest of us who hide out on Bogo's Place. Geez Bogo, you're gonna have to start serving coffee and cinnamon rolls here. I'll take a caramel latte thanks.

I read in one of your earlier posts that you didn't want a forum. LOL. Comparing the the number of comments on your blog with the other blogs and forums, looks like you've become the reluctant forum host anyhow. It's like the friendly neighborhood roost where everyone's welcome.

Bogo's Place--The New "Cheers":
"Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got;
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

All those night when you've got no lights,
The check is in the mail;
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail;
And your third fiance didn't show;

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your screen name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your screen name.

Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead;
The morning's looking bright;
And your shrink ran off to Europe,
And didn't even write;
And your husband wants to be a girl;

Be glad there's one place in the world
Where everybody knows your screen name."

Thanks Bogo! Love, a new regular.

Today MR's blog is all about Republican voter suppression fraud. Seems all of us evil Republicans have a plot to destroy our democracy by erasing certain groups of people from the voting logs. Of course her source is some moonbat site that's big into conspiracy theories.

Is this blogger for real? Is she just super gullible, brainwashed or STUPID? Does anyone believe her crap? And what rock did she crawl out from under? I never even heard of this women until a year ago. All I can say is READER BEWARE.

BTW, MR, if you read this, which I'm sure you do----> take down those links to that poor man's business. You're really pissing people off. And while you're at it throw your computer in a yard sale and get a real job. You know what they say about idle minds being the devil's workshop.

Suo Mynona said...

Actually the folks that were beating the TM drum were in a win-win situation. If the TM draws a crowd they can take a bow and if not they were too stupid to listen to them. As far as not attending most put it aside as just not worth attending. Satisfied with the status quo? Maybe. I know I am.

MR rants can be dismissed as Moonbatitis that has been going on for about eight years. Soon they will have Obama in and many suspect he is a closet moonbat so the hope is there. They'll be in for a surprise.

Coffee and those nasty little rolls that create even bigger rolls on Bogo. This will mean a stop at Honey Dew on the way home, Moderate. Nothing like food to ease the pain of my investments and the politics from local to national.

Comfort food works for me. Mostly chocolate fudge, Ben & Jerry's, dutch apple pie, stawberry shortcake, ring dings, chocolate truffles, creme puffs, etc. As for the added rolls of insulation on Mildly, big sweaters work. As for investments, my lifetime collection of baseball cards aren't worth crap. My house has been devalued by 23% through new town assessment, but the taxes went up. Don't even want to check what my 401k is worth. Never believed in whole life insurance. And the most I ever won in scratch tickets is 10 bucks.

bogofree said...

I have been buying my wife and daughter lobster about three times a week at Market Basket since the price is $3.99 a pound. They finally bought me a tub of Turkey Hill Rum Rasin ice cream. Now Hannaford's has Hood ice cream sandwiches on sale for $1.25. Package a day is about right.

My baseball cards can be put to good use as they are wonderful for starting up the firepace. Willie Tasby and Dick Gernert started yesterdays fire.

The 401(k) and 403(b) are dropping daily...one step forward and two steps back. That is almost as depressing as reading certain bogs...not this one, of course.

I was suppose to go on a ride/run with Mr. Media this week but I pulled a hamstring muscle so that's out.

anonymous said...

Well, Bogo, you are going out in style. Right now I have lost 50% of what I had in retirement funds. Poof! I will never trust the bastards in Washington again. All they did with that bailout was give the rich a tax break. Too bad the MR's of the world can't figure out that both parties sit back and laugh at us. The next great news is my equity line. I had an open line that was just reduced by 30% based on the fact my house is now worth about $75,000 less than six months ago. Think I will get a 25% tax break?

anonymous said...

When you go with BB for a ride/run do you carry a gun just in case? Does he tell you of fantasies about Jessie and MT? Is he trying to get you to participate in the over throw of town government? Does he ask you for column ideas?

drive-by said...

Anonymouse 12:03

I believe the economy goes in cycles. This one may just take longer to ride out. If I'd had a say in the bailout, I would have waited until all the Wall St. wonders jumped out their windows before doing anything.

Whatever you do don't fall for the reverse mortgage scam. Just another way of bilking the little guy.

MR and her ilk are in for a very rude awakening. From her pics she doesn't look like any spring chicken and her bad advice is going to make her feel the pinch just like the rest of us. Can you see her in the soup lines demanding a double portion? LOL They'll ladle her the chicken fat off the top and give her crusty old bread to sop it up.

Well, if things go belly up, we'll just pull up stakes and move in with one of the kids. If we pool our family resources we'll somehow scrape by.

OR, maybe we'll just move to Georgia where we won't have to worry about heating oil, and live off the land in some old hippie commune and BBQ the roadkill, grits, and fried chitlins.

bogofree said...

I have some recipes for all sorts of road kill except no one will be able to afford to drive. One thing of note is that armadillo tastes like chicken.

I am very anti bailout since all it has done is reward bad behavior and political incompetence. We hire (vote) for folks to cover our arse and this was such a pattern of regulatory over sight that the pols were either stupid or greedy (love those campaign contributions!).

This cycle may take a decade or longer since it is really nasty. I managed to get into a short fund a few months ago that did exceptionally well but it was only about 5% stake so I'm in the same 30% to 60% boat as everyone else.

When I ride with BB I have no problems since he is now a noted criminal known throughout the law enforvement community. Even escape is impossible since even a tub of goo like myself can run faster than he can ride.

As far as fantasies I will not touch THAT comment no matter how tempting.

I am part of his team to take over Mboro and then the state and then the world. Our first goal was to pack the TM with our operatives - wonder how that turned out?

His columns certainly needs no help from me to self destruct as all I would do is speed up the process.

After suffering through 30 minutes of ONE BOS meeting I have to wonder why Comcast even broadcasts it. I'd rather have my fingernails slowly ripped off than sit through another one.

bogofree said...

Bluto. I watch the BOS meetings and give the BOS a special High Five. To get through all that mudane BS either shows dedication or a strong need to "get a life." I go with the dedication regardless of how I feel about how they respond to the critical issues facing the town such as a barking dog or paying ten times more attention to a used car lot requirements than a billion dollar casino. Responding to folks like say me? Ooops...how about MR! Or having yourself blogged to death like AB - all of that takes a toll I am sure. Now Mimi will take some hits as she goes through the learning curve. Nice lady who has already been Palinized by certain bloggers.

I usually watch the meeting in stages over several days as Comacast believes it is some form of media water boarding and puts it on at every opportunity. Most of the stuff just drones on and on and the speakers are in monotone delivery delivering info on departments I didn't even know existed. I could care less about the various phases of bog constructure unless the trucks are running through my yard. Just arm Jayson and turn him loose on the doggie population - no tag? Boom! I can hear him now: "Your wondering, Spot, did he fire five or six shots. Well, Spot, go ahead and make my day." Spot then pees all over Jayson.

drive-by said...

You're right Bogo about the weird fixation some bloggers have about AB. Yeah he caved in on the negotiations and settled for a pittance. OK he's flawed. So are all the rest of us in one way or another. But to shred him and his wife to the bone over and over again on the net for over a year? That family doesn't deserve what the bloggers have put them through on such a personal level. I don't blame the Bonds one bit for being bitter. Now MT is crying rivers and melting down for getting back some of what she has dished out. Boo Hoo. Hey, what goes around comes around. I've said before I'm not crazy about living in a town with a casino. But that "gin mill" as you call it couldn't possibly do as much damage to people's lives as certain bloggers have. That's the way I see it.

That last comment I made was to stupid even for me. MT brings out the best in me.

Unfortunately lmao, MT mostly brings out the worst in herself. I wish she had the good sense to rethink and delete some of HER posts just like you did. Too bad she's wasting all that talent trashing people. She ought to move on and start blogging about something productive. But 1st she owes some people retractions and apologies. Never happen. Never ever.

LMAO! As long as I blog there is always something more stupid than anything you are capable of posting...maybe I'm forgetting MR and MT? OK....put me third in line but I'm working on being #1.

Former Federal Reserve Chairman for 18 years, Alan Greenspan, testified before Congress that the current economic crisis is "a credit tsunami". He expressed shock and disbelief without assuming any responsibility for being part of the problem and predicted relief in "many, many" months when the housing market stabilizes....like we trust his judgement any more.

"It's not my fault!" LOL! He was quick to take credit for years. We hire legislators (via votes) to watch our backs. They failed. Now comes the blame game and finger pointing but not too much since both parties are, well, a party to this. The bailout will not help except to cover the arse of those that should not be covered.

LL's site has very little traffic and this blog (thankfully) has plenty of traffic with all the local and state pols signing on three or four times a day to get a peek at all the wisdom that flows forth. I'm sure the mention of Bluto, PP, LMAO, Moderate, drive-by and our 1,342 anon's will just stop everyone in the halls at "The Hill" to hear the latest.

drive-by said...

I believe everyone deserves the ocassional right to be an a-hole. But on a daily basis on every subject under the sun?

So, what am I talking about? Well, just having read the rounds of all the usual blogging suspects, it's become obvious that tolerance of others' opinions is rarely exercised by some. Today BB, MR, Ryan's Take, and Dan Kennedy:

BB: "William A. McDermott Jr. - a Boston lawyer and political operator who seems to be one of the people pulling the strings of the Mashpee Wampanoag in their quest to ruin Middleboro and S.E. Massachusetts with a casino."

Dan Kennedy: "Slime in Historical Context" 10/20/08
"You can argue all day that neither John McCain nor Sarah Palin has said anything quite that breathtakingly brash. But they set it in motion, and let pre-existings fears about a black man with a Muslim-sounding name do the rest."

MR: "The Origins of GOP Slime"- 10/25/08

Ryan's Take-On the Republican Party-"Will the bulk of the national party decide that the reason why they lost is because they weren't nasty and vindictive enough?

Well, excuuuuuse me for being one of Moderate America's brain dead who thinks there are areas of grey in every issue, who chooses not to register or vote strictly along party lines, and who thinks the huge pile of smelly dung rhetoric-offered by both sides wearing thick coke bottle political glasses- is just that....BS rhetoric.

The Wamps are intent on RUINING Middleboro? The far left has a monopoly on the TRUTH? This campaign isn't just American politics as usual? Gimme a break.

More of the INTELLIGENSIA need to come down off their high horses and read Howie Carr. He doesn't discriminate in who he makes fun of. Everyone is fair game. God I hate people who take themselves and their opinions so seriously and see reflections of the biblical prophets when they look in the mirror. "Repent!" LMAO!

Can you tell I haven't had my morning gallon of coffee yet?

bogofree said...

MM oh do I love Howie Carr! The Brothers Bulger is just a great read and I just love the nicknames he assigns to some of the political bag of winds.

Looks like you have looked at the same far, far left moonbat BS that I have. I use that garbage for comic relief. In their collective minds all Republicans are the incarnate of all evil.

I have lost respect for both parties after that gawd awful bailout bill. Few had the guts to stay the course and at least Lynch stuck to it. That was, to me, the end of it.

The moonbats find conspiratorial connections anywhere and everywhere. Thankfully, they just rumble among themselves on their various blogs.

A few of the local moonbats have ventured into town politics and all you need in conservative Mboro is to collect a few of their more absurd ramblings and just hand it out as election material. Case closed on that career.

I tend to disagree on the A-hole thing as that seems to exceed your daily measurement IMO since some post on multiple sites and make comments. I usually fit that category on maybe a two a week stat? More if you ask my wife.

Forgive me, bogofree. When I first read you on Topix, then found this blog, I thought you were an idiot for dissing on CFO and still calling yourself anti casino. Now that I've been following along and can see that the CFO bloggers play fast and loose with the truth and are SOBs for the way they hound and trash people by name so cruelly, I've turned on them to.

I can also see that Topix served a purpose in discrediting CFO blogfathers for their lies. The org should have done more earlier to cut ties with the real 'mean people who suck.' I bought JP's and MT's crap for a long time until you made me take a long good look at them. Now light dawns on marble, duh!

Now I see that your site is the only place where folks on all sides of the issue can finally talk to one another. I don't know any of the pros here, but I understand now that many of them are angry and hurting because they don't know where their next paychecks are coming from and how desparate they are to bring more jobs to the area. Their comments here made me open my mind to the real fears of real people. Boy do I feel like a schmuck for being so slow.

My apologies to you and others. I was the jerk, not you. Sorry. DBM

bogofree said...

Hey....I'm still an idiot! No apology was necessary since I learned the very hard way and readily admit it in some of my earlier blogs on this site. I just cannot see linking to info and blogs that have shown to be shallow and false.

The trouble with some of the bloggers is that some really good stuff will be discredited because of the connection. CFO was and can be an excellent organization for the anti-casino faction and seems to be attempting to reinvent themselves a bit more in that credibility direction.

I am somewhat of a fence sitter on the casino issue and can see both the positive and the negative and have posted my observations and opinions on every site be it pro or anti. I don't like the idea that the jobs are the result of income distribution but the boys and girls that go through those magical doors know that everything is a long shot.

I wish I had the time and ability to make the site a bit more sophisticated but I don't - at least at this point in time.

anonymous said...

CFO hated Topix since they had zero control except to whine to Topix. They could not delete or edit as they can on their blogs. Topix may have seemed like a cesspool at times but it was a people's forum and that made it a loud voice. It did as much to discredit JP and MT as anything possible.

anonymous said...

You could tell Toxic had a great impact by the attention it got from cfo. It was a constant topic usually with "I never read it but I hear." LOL! As another anon said they had no control so it just likked them. IMO Toxic helped bring so much negative attention to cfo that they dumped MT and MR.

LMAO! Man have you folks nailed it! Toxic is like a freaking reality show and gossip show and I love it! Nothing caused a greated downfall of CFO than Toxic. I looked at their blogs daily and it seemed half the comments were about Toxic. No control over it. Nada! Even on this blog are some comments copied from Toxic. Good old Bozo even did a blog on it so I bless his black heart on that one. BEAUTIFUL! They could toss him and his truth squad off of nemaket.laughable but then he starts his own blog where it stays forever! LMAO! Then on Toxic for months was the pounding away at CFO and all they could do was cry and whine. Man oh man do they hate it! And Chief Pat Self On Back (hats off to whoever tagged him that) could not resist with I think his first worthless column. LMAO!

bogofree-I'll take your word on your being an idiot. But I'll take dibs that my better half calls me that twice as often as yours does.

When I forget to buy something at the grocery store, "You idiot. I gave you a list. Can't you think for yourself?"

"Why should I? You do all the thinking for both of us."

I get no respect. And to make things worse, my wife has cloned two daughters to take up where she leaves off.

My mission in life seems to be to bring home a paycheck so they all can run out and spend it. DBM

P.S. Topix may have killed off the bloggers. But I think the economy has killed the casino, at least for a decade.

bogofree said...

That casino is dead in the water. Congress, Wall St. greed, stupid loans and so on did what no one else could do. I don't know what that does to the s++t deal but I hope it kills it since that 7Mil will be a tip at Honey Dew in five years.

In our house my daughter takes after me with ultra sarcastic humor and just a disgusting all around attitude. My wife will say "damn" and that's the worse you'll get out of her while my daughter and I will watch the Red Sox and bond by throwing out "inappropriate language." My daughter's current book of choice is Chelsea Handler's My Horizontal Life and I will read an occasional excerpt just to get my wife nauseous. But when they fight is when the real problems happen as they make up by shopping.

My wife does do most of the work around the house since I am mechanically incompetent by choice. She will also spend excessive amounts of time on the yard and garden which is OK by me. I'm limit myself to cooking suppers although my daughter has taken over that chore now that she is unemployed and needs the few bucks I give her for it.

Im more interested in this lady from Middleboro,Ann Gibbson A special needs teacher beating on Autistic kids.

If that stuff is true this lady should not be teaching and charged.

Why the hell is she not out pending the investigation? They moved her in to teach adults.

bogofree said...

I didn't bother reading the story on the teacher but even if she's 100% clean it'll be tough for her from this day forward. I have no idea why she is still working while the investigation proceeds so I'll have to catch up on that story.

The best Charles Bronson movie to me was Hard Times. Great period piece for 30s and Clint Eastwood stole the idea for Every Which Way But Loose.

My son is getting married in June so her parents gave her 10K for the wedding to take place in California. I bought a house in Brockton for them to live in and they pay me cost until they can buy it. So I could get stuck....maybe get a bailout? I'll have to lie about my income and state I make $10,000,000 a year to get it.

Old is when you turn 50 and go for your yearly physical. The doc sends you for a colonoscopy up your butt (after 24 hrs of drinking a prep that makes you sleep overnight on the john). Then he tells you your cholesterol is so high you're going to blow an artery and wind up like a vegetable. He finds that your prostate is as big as a watermelon and you have painful hemorrhoids hanging like grapes. He puts you on an 800 calorie high fiber diet because your six pack has collapsed under a soft belly bulge. You need an ultra sound to rule out an aortal aneurysm. And worst of all he tells you that rubbing on Rogaine ain't gonna help. It's time for Hair Club for Men.

Gee, can't wait til I turn 60. LOL

bogofree said...

I'm sixty...well...sixty - four and in fantastic shape! That stomach hanging is just muscle at rest. But I can take off a quick 20 pounds anytime I want - but hacking off my arm is kind of desperate. So bad when you get older that I don't really mind my wife wearing flannel to bed and really encourage it. Just remember middle age is anyone 10 years older than you.

I read the story on the teacher in the Enterprise and that just seems weird. Seems to be a pattern so we'll have to see what the end result is and at this point it does not look good.

My wife says the Lady Bugs are looking for a place to settle for the winter - so I guess they are the homeless of the insect world.

Im sorry but the front room "inside" is not the place to settle for the winter. There being evicted I'll help them out though I won't throw them into the cold, I'm just going to help them move into the wetvac. LOL unless you want them?

Ladybug: Perhaps best known as an emblem of luck, the Ladybug is a love symbol too. Asian traditions hold to the belief that if caught and then released, the Ladybug will faithfully fly to your true love and whisper your name in his/her ear. Upon hearing the Ladybug's message your true love will hurry his/her way to your side. Ancient farmers of the land have considered the Ladybug a good omen as she controls aphid populations. The number of spots on a Ladybug's back is said to indicate the number of months to pass before the wish for love comes true.

Q. Why do ladybugs come into my house in the winter time?
A. Ladybugs are attracted to the light colored houses. Especially, homes that have a clear southwestern sun exposure. Older homes tend to experience more problem with aggregations due to lack of adequate insulation. The ladybugs come in through small cracks around windows, door ways and under clap boards. They want to hibernate in a warm, comfortable spot over the cold months of winter. Ladybugs gather in groups when they hibernate, so if you see one, you can be sure more will follow. The best way to keep them out is to repair damaged clap boards, window and door trim and to caulk small cracks.

Q. Once the ladybugs are in my house, will they eat anything?
A. No. Ladybugs don't eat fabric, plants, paper or any other household items. They like to eat APHIDS. Aphids are very small, but very destructive pest that feed on plants. (If you have rose bushes, you have probably seen aphids.) Ladybugs, while trying to hibernate in your house, live off of their own body fats. They, also, prefer a little humidity. But our homes are usually not very humid during the winter. In fact, they are rather dry causing most of your ladybug guests to die from dehydration. Occasionally, you might witness a ladybug in your bathroom getting a drink of water. Now, that's a smart lady!

Q. How can I get them out of my house?
A. If you don't have a lot, just leave them. They will leave when spring arrives. Disturbing them will only cause them to stress out leaving yellow markings on your walls. The yellow stuff, you see, is not waste matter, but rather, their blood. Ladybugs release a small amount of their blood which is yellow and smells, when they sense danger. Some people have said that it does stain on light colored surfaces.

Q. But, I really want the ladybugs out of my house!
A. Use a "shop vacuum". This type of vacuum is easy to use for collect ladybugs. When using this to vacuum up ladybugs, use a clean bag or pad the bottom with a cloth. After all is clean, release the unwelcome guests outside.

Shop Vac I was right!

Well Bogo. Looks like I missed the fun on here last night. Your site has become an informative, but enjoyable read. 101 comments! Not too shabby! I just wish some of the anonymice would make up creative names so I could tell one from another. But I understand their worry not to be recognized and blogged about.

Just one week to the election and the results seem inevitable. I doubt that any president will be able to rebuild a strong economy in 4 short years. In fact I expect things to get worse before they get better. Too much greed, corruption, and bad policy and NO ONE seems to be taking any responsibility for it. Look at how long it took FDR to pull us out of the Great Depression after the damage done in the Hoover years.

The one person I know for sure I will be voting against is Barney Frank. IMO, he is an arrogant, snarky do nothing. Caught his interview with O'Reilly (which I watch purely for entertainment value) and old Barney came off as totally obnoxious and testy, worse than Bill and that takes some doing.

Obama is certainly a more polished speaker than McCain, but where's the beef? Deval was a smooth talker cut from the same cloth, but what has he accomplished as Gov? Seems to me that Obama spent his two years in the Senate running for president. And his National Healthcare policy is unlikely to go anywhere because the failing economy won't support it. McCain OTOH looks old, cranky, and worn out. I guess when it comes down to it, I have to decide which candidate I dislike more.

America is certainly not the Promised Land my parents emigrated here to find. I'm glad that neither of them is here to see that the American Dream has become a nightmare.

As an aside, I caught a great show on the History Channel this weekend called the "Black Blizzard". Of course I read about he Dust Bowl in Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath", but I had no idea of the black dust clouds up to 5000 ft. high and stretching over 1000 miles wide. After watching some of the period images and film journals, I can't imagine how the people in the Great Plains survived 10 years of breathing the sand and silt that killed so many and turned the land into a desert. I was also surprised to learn that it wasn't just the drought that caused the problem. I guess that ripping up the prairie grass and utilizing antiquated government spomsored 1905 farming techniques was a huge factor. Congress failed to act until Black Sunday when the worst and most powerful Black Blizzard finally spread to Washington, DC. Well done documentary that I'm sure will be repeated.

Of course I will be boycotting TM tonight in favor of relaxing and finally finishing "The Alchemist".

Not here to debate you. I kow this crowd has put you through a lot of crap. So, think whatever you want. It's your right. But I'm going to give people the benefit of the doubt until they're proven guilty. I've learned not to take anyone's word for anything anymore.

Denis Leary is a heartless jerk. In his new book quoted in the Herald and the Globe he wrote:

There is a huge boom in autism right now because inattentive mothers and competitive dads want an explanation for why their dumb-ass kids can't compete academically, so they throw money into the happy laps of shrinks…to get back diagnoses that help explain away the deficiencies of their junior morons.

I have a 9 year old autistic kid. He can't talk and hardly ever sleeps. He's started having temper tantrums that come out of nowhere and has to be watched 24/7 because he wanders off. We love him and do all we can for him. He can be a real sweet kid. His teachers do all they can but the problems are getting worse. The stress is ongoing. We worry a lot about what's going to happen to him in the future.

Denis Leary doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. He should just count his blessings that his kids are healthy and shut up about something he doesn't know a thing about.

Anonymous said...

I was just making a point. Insider said that. If I want to have an opinion and write something I will. People don't have to take my "Flying monkey sticking it in a Moonbat symbol" and try to start problems. I don't give a hoot who is making money more power to you.

I just think MT is isolated now and has seen the old influence she had (an illusion IMO) just go away. MB is stepping back from the casino issue since it is just spinning your wheels at this point. As far as any financial incentive I have my doubts about that.

MM...nice post and I am in agreement. This election is a lock for Obama and as far as Barney Frank? I wish him all the worse. Just a bitter old crank at this point...and I know all about being bitter and old and a crank.

The Black Blizzard is a great story. Shameful times. Certainly changed farming philosophy. I know with FDR we were spinning our wheels for years until Europe decided to get our businesses up and running by killing each other. This time around I look for long and painful. Nothing, IMO, is safe - pension, SS, anything.

Leary wants to sell books and what better way than being an A-hole. What he said was just beyond stupid. I guess he had his refill for idiot pills taken care of and managed to overdose.

I may just do another blog that will be a simple line or two so we can post various thoughts.
