Senate Race Winners (W) And Losers (L)

Martha Coakley (L). Came across as a brazen, arrogant and remote elitist that is part of the Beacon Hill power structure. Represents the party that gives you a pattern of indictments, ignoring referendums and perv and DUI members. Enough is enough.

Scott Brown (W) Played his cards right and stuck to his mantra theme throughout the campaign. Did not waiver off it and keep the national Republicans out of sight. He came across as the opposite of Coakley. That morphed Kennedy commercial and Southie commercial were well targeted. Populist message is a seller.

Obama (L) Gave help in NJ, Virginia and Massachusetts with the same result. His “rescue” is about as viable as FEMA’s was for New Orleans. The rhetoric no longer sells and the substance is not there. Jimmy Carter part II?

Health Care (W/L) That awful bill will be deep sixed or at least put on hold. Reform is needed in a sensible and progressive manner and not a rush job political agenda that the public saw right through. Now we may get coverage done right.

Media (L) No more full page ads. No more endless banal TV spots. No more mass mailings. Goodbye bottom line.

DNC (L) The Democratic National Committee has allowed a remake of 1972 when moonbats took control. Ask middle America what they think of Pelosi and Reid? To Bumpkin they are “Progressives.” LMBAO! IMO America is a nation of individualist who are abhorred by this drift to the nanny state and European socialism.

RNC (W) The Republican National Committee. They were broke and with little or no hope. Now the money will roll in and they can have their own little hope and change.

Bush & Chaney (W) Was fun while it lasted to run a Bloody Shirt campaigns but that time has passed. They no longer own the economy, the war or a bundle of foolish mistakes they made. All belongs to WOW and his own bundle of foolish mistakes.

Deval Patrick (L) If anyone was a loser before this election it was “One and out.” Now? This light weight might be dumped by his own party.

Independents (W). This is the voting block that calls the shots in this day and age. No longer tied to archaic political philosophy and mind boggling rhetoric. Where they go the election goes.

Vicki Kennedy (L) Certainly no star power for this campaign.

John Kerry (L) On cue he went dirty with targeted suggestions at the Brown camp followers. Old tricks that don’t play in this age. Swift Boat payback attempt?

Internet (W) Brown really used this to his advantage. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube hits were three to five times greater than Coakley’s.

Lobbyist (W) Oh did they pour money into the campaign the last few weeks - especially
Brown. Now comes the request for payback. Keep an eye out for a Brown sellout.

ACORN (L) As the line in the song says: “I’ll be watching you.” IMO one of the most despicable and corrupt political organizations within memory. Funny how Obama has a connection to them? Just coincidence. Their usual tactics were kept under wraps.

FOX News (W) The liberals thorn in the side. Whine all the want all it does is push the ratings up. They smell blood now and the various right wing pit bulls will be out in force.

Health Care Stocks (W) Nice bounce on Tuesday when pre election and exit polling were showing Brown winning.

Tea Party (W) Try all they want the Democrats have to face the reality this is not a right wing fringe group but a viable movement with growing clout.

Boston Globe-Democrat (L) This paper was nearly financially bankrupt and that would certainly match their ability to be intellectually bankrupt. The bow tied bum kissers even had a poll a few days before the election showing Coakley 15 points ahead. I feel your pain.

Polls (W) This is a science that is becoming quite exacting. The Suffolk University and their “Bell weather” has been 96% accurate in outcome.

Overrides (L) Taxes are really getting folks energized so the Middleboro group will face a momentous struggle to get an override approved.

Deficit Spending (L) If you loved the Bush budgets you’ll be absolutely ecstatic with the WOW budgets. Folks fully comprehend the excesses that are taking place and the fiscal con job emanating from Washington. Too bad the politicians don’t.

Bozo! LMCAO!

Looks like you have been to the BB site where BB and Tony and blaming everyone but themselves. Hey, guys, it's all about the agenda! We don't want it and Obama doesn't realize it.

Scott Brown wins! Just the sound of it! Historic.

Family Guy said...

What's with LL's site?

drive-by said...

Moonbats wake up? But bogo, they have an ideology that makes them believe that only they know what's best for the rest of us. They don't care what we think or want. And that's not going to change.

bogofree said...

I forgot how correct you are, Drive-By - my bad.

I have read some local, state and national comments from the looney fringe included some that are in the rarified air of our humble little conservative backwater. The blame game is all on us for we are reactionaries while they are visionaries! Oh the pain!

anonymous said...

It's about health care, the economy and jobs. So far those three major points have been dragging Obama down and us with him. Measures by the democrats have failed. The back room shenanigans have not played well. This is a message from the most liberal state in the union so you can imagine what to expect in middle America. Too many moonbats just don’t understand this and cling to their vapid name calling and blame game. It’s performance! You were given a chance to deliver and have failed.

bogofree said...

The health care bill reminds me of how Boss Tweed would operate. Joe Wilson was correct on the first term of Jimmy Obama. Remember his "promise" of topped out unemployment at 8%? His 3.2 million new jobs? The Democrats have controlled Congress since 2006 and all the poll numbers show the same - all time negative ratings. Individual there may be some responsible and classy legislators but with group dynamics they are a mob. This keeps up the good old days will be the Bush presidency.

"Forget the truck. Everyone can buy a truck" -- Obama

Average working families buy trucks. Academics and elitists do not buy trucks.

A very big and politically naive comment.

BB is great at helping us predict who will win an election.

An excellent analysis of this week's election, Bogo. Much better and funnier than anything I've seen anywhere.

drive-by said...

Ah gee, Pelosi announced today that she doesn't have enough votes to pass the Senate HC bill. Too bad she never did the math on how we were going to pay for it before Brown won Tuesday.

*************************
BB just doesn't get it, does he? The majority of independent thinking Americans feel uncomfortable with extremists from either side.

bogofree said...

DB

They just don't get it. I've been following the liberal angst on the BB site. The middle is tired....real tired...and we'll change horses quick and know a pile of shinola when we see it. All this current administration has delivered is more failure. Tossed out Bush and can toss out Obama. This reminds me of the Civil War where Lincoln went through generals until he found one that could do the job.

What cracks me up is the critique of the Tea Party. This is the same BS that supporters of prop 2 and 1/2 had to wade through over 25 years ago and prop 13 followers the same in California. That formula has been followed by the moonbats for decades - smear any initiatives that do not follow their collective mind set. Get a clue for the clueless - Tea Party has nut jobs and wing nuts for sure but the major force is middle of the road who are tired of paying for the failed policies of the looney left. I can just imagine what Tip and Scoop would think of the party today.

Thank you for the comments Jane.

Don't encourage him Jane.

Bozo. I just saw this that you posted on another site. LMCAO!

In the 1970s I had a bumper sticker that said "Don't Blame Me - I'm From Massachusetts." I can now get one that says "Congradulate Me - I'm From Massachusetts."

mildly said...

Like many other MA voters my Independent vote for Brown was my only way of saying, "Enough is enough" to those DC elitists intent on driving us all off a cliff. CAN YOU HEAR US NOW, OBAMA, PELOSI ET AL?"

mildly said...

Today Obama blamed current voter anger on GWB. That makes a lot of sense. We all voted for a republican to get even with Bush. How out of touch is Obama with the American people? He seems to be saying to all of us, "I don't think you understood me. So, let me give you another talking too." This guy seems to have a hard and fast belief in himself as a strong parent in a dangerous world. Well excuse me Mr. Obama but I don't need your guiding hand to form my thinking.

bogofree said...

He's in office simply over anger for Bush. Not any great groundswell of love for his agenda. Brown is in office over anger of Obama and the continuing antics of the Beacon Hill elite. Yeah...anger is the commonality....but I am sick of hearing about "the previous eight years." WTC! You had Congress from 2006 on and each year it gets worse. You now own it!

I just hope that in Massachusetts this encourages Republicans to run and reform Democrats to run so that some viable options exist. All I continue to see if politicians taking their office for granted and with little accountability in this state. Serve and then get into a public agency or quasi agency to fatten up that big retirement kiss. Load up offices with relatives, friends and contributors. All funded by us.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Air America Radio, a radio network that was launched in 2004 as a liberal alternative to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative commentators, on Thursday shut down abruptly due to financial woes.

The network once boasted hosts such as Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, but struggled from the outset, including multiple management shake-ups, a bankruptcy in 2006 and sale for $4.25 million the following year.

Air America ceased airing new programs Thursday afternoon and said it will soon file to be liquidated under Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It began broadcasting reruns of programs and would end those as well Monday night.

"The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America's business. This past year has seen a `perfect storm' in the media industry generally," the company said in a statement on its Web site.

***Great Article***

Page Three of The Gazette on preserving the Thompson Street farms in a practical manner. The group has actually gone to the town officials to garner their support & expertise.

The "Land for Good" could use some real time donation by BB. As the town's leading advocate on community preservation, his knowledge would be useful. However; BB may not assist because they are not looking to tax the rest of us and the group received seed money comes from the &*%!!@# casino.

I think it is a great use of the money.

I will glady except all the apologies from the Obama supporters who believed all that pap he wrapped up with his silver tongue. His administration has failed and will continue to fail.

That was an excellent article and it did show the fact that the attempt is made to get everyone in the loop. Get the support or measure the support. Speak to any group it may impact. Get advice on how to proceed from those who are familar with the process. Funny how the term "transparency" is only a one way street to some.

Ah...the wing nut of all wing nuts has posted. Both Rigger and BB can use the same statements only when Rigger uses Obama BB can use Bush and visa versa.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Unemployment rates rose in 43 states last month, the government said Friday, painting a bleak picture of the job market that illustrated nationwide data released two weeks ago.

The rise in joblessness was a sharp change from November, when 36 states said their unemployment rates fell. Four states -- South Carolina, Delaware, Florida and North Carolina -- reported record-high jobless rates in December.

New Jersey's rate, meanwhile, rose to a 33-year high of 10.1 percent while New York's reached a 26-year high of 9 percent.

Analysts said the report showed the economy is recovering at too weak a pace to generate consistent job creation.
*********************************

This is great. Tell me moonbats when are all those jobs going to be created? 3.2 million jobs.

Obama wandering into Ohio and appeared before a dispirited crowd of party regulars infiltrated by a significantly larger group of we are fed up folks. I’ve heard of the Teflon president now we have the Teflon tongued president as he continues to spew forth the usual rhetoric laced with “fight” and really to ignore all that stuff going on behind the curtain. Let’s face the facts and that is a significant portion of his base is made up of takers and not givers and the givers have had it up to their eyeballs with bailouts, stimulus, more bailouts and few jobs and, of course, a large bill in current taxes and an astronomical bill in future debt.

An idea for Family Guy, LMAO, Mildly Moderate, Drive By, Chica and anonymous 1, 2, 3, & 4; take BB up his deperate plea for a guest columnist. Y'all are highly astoodt and the poor guy has no takers and has been reduced to showing messenger dialogue in attempt for legitimacy.

I can't be bothered to read the dialogue. BB's opening statement saying he was "having a debate" was all I could take. Debating is not his specialty.

bogofree said...

I saw the debate and managed to get through a few sentences. Maybe he can incorporate that into a column? Be better than a sleeping pill for insomniacs.

I don't think anyone here can be a guest columnist since this site has too many third rate dips**ts.

I did read the exchange between BB and his buddy Mike. Frankly, I'm surprised they're friends. Mike seems more representative of the thinking on this site, and verbally trounced BB on each and every political talking point. These blog post convinced me once and for all that BB doesn't think for himself. Comrade Bumpkin just regurgitates scripted party propaganda. He's content to have Big Government tell him what he needs and wants and has no problems paying the price tag for it.

Usually at BB’s age you outgrow such political thought. Too bad. Lost in a world of slogans.

I guess the exchange is antempt to generate some type of interest in his various blogs and columns. Rarely, if ever, do I see a letter published in the Gazette regarding one of his columns.

drive-by said...

Interesting to note that the other Blogfathers seem to have distanced themselves from BB and he from them. Problems in liberal paradise? Most conspicuous is absence of 'anonymous' comments from JP. Uh oh BB, what did you do to make her hit list?

Come to think of it, JP has been remarkably benign lately. Maybe Clark CT went back to dial up and she can't get a clear line. Nah, this is just the calm before the storm.

Suo:

I'd be nuts to reveal my name and email just to dialogue with BB. Not that I find him particularly non trustworthy. I have kids and they'd kill me for embarassing them. As it is they make me walk 100 feet behind them in a mall. I suspect they'll have to reach their 20s before they concede to giving me any public recognition.

I find this statement on Palestine and Israel by Obama truly astonishing:

"if we had anticipated some of these political problems...we might not have raised expectations as high"
(Time Magazine)

He didn't anticipate any of the political problems that have existed for sixty years. WOW is right Bogo

Sorry for the cut and paste.

bogofree said...

In the NH primary race Obama made a statement which I have not been able to confirm. I actually emailed a few news agencies after I heard it. A reporter asked him if he felt people would not vote for him because of his color. Obama responded - and I paraphrase "Those would be the same ones that would not vote for be because of my politics." I can see the linkage in that. As I said I cannot confirm it and it may have been a senior moment.

How many Nobel Prizes have the Middle East situation generated over the years?

I am waiting for when the patience of Israel wears thin on Iran and their nuclear facilities have an accident. Has happened before.

To JP BB is a right wing ultra conservative. I do believe from my own observations that the anti movement is centrist with a good number to the right of center. Maybe the moral aspects of gaming?

Obama announces inititves for the middle class!

Don't help us! No more help! Everytime you "help" it gets worse. No more bailouts. No more stimulus. No more having those with tender hands telling how business is to be run. Get that tax code fixed! Get insurance to go across state lines.

The defections in his own party....
The failure of his health care bill...
The lack of confidence by the American people in his actions and the direction of the country....
The continuing high unemployment....
The failures of the stimulus bill to create jobs....

These are some of the comments I have heard on TV as the State of The Union approaches. These comments were from CNBC and CNN! They are certainly classified as pro Obama.

Family Guy said...

Is his agenda stalled or does he need a new one?

bogofree said...

Have they learned anything? Has Obama and the Democrats realized that the virtually total lack of "transparency" has had a negative impact? That the back room deals right out of Boss Tweed's time just don't play.

I was at the Y watching CNN rip apart the stimulus bill. That was just the beginning.

Tonight will be more of the same as I expect the long list of achievements that never were. Next will be the plans for the next round of tossing money down the drain.

Looks like some other tribes are signing on with Cape Wind thumbs down.

On that note the recent failures of the party in power appears to have stalled any fix.

I did not watch our President last night and will not watch his phony speeches. On Tuesday, our well prepared President appeared before a classroom of 3rd graders and had to use a Teleprompter. I tried to give him a chance (voted for McCain) but will never watch this phony again. America got what it wanted - CHANGE!!!

Suo Mynona said...

It would be a wonderful thing if he could give an everyday speech without the teleprompters.

He cannot look forward and speak to the people. He is always looking left or right. The pun is not intended, but appropriate.

I just hope he and congress does get it. I do believe our state government is starting to get it. State government has to balance the budget.

bogofree said...

I just get tired of the failed rhetoric. He drew his line in the sand and the middle America that carried him just washed it away. Unless something dramatic happens this may be 3 years of lame duck for Jimmy Obama.

I'm willing to give Obama a chance since he was handed quite a mess but my patience is running real thin. I have seen no improvement and, in fact, it appears to be getting a lot worse. Obama seems to now be drifting around trying to find some way of making a connection while Congress continues to do little or nothing. When do you pull the plug on this administration? Maybe you guys have but I'm holding off until November - maybe.

I voted for Scott Brown based on health care.
